I know it is required to purchase a one day pass for each person in the room to get free dining. Now, my kids have their own passes (just purchased a 10 day hopper for them in Feb.) however, me and dh don't have any.
Can we add to our room key/pass a 3 day hopper and my kids just get 1 day?

No.
Everybody on your reservation must be getting the same park pass - length, options, expiry.
You can include one day base passes on your reservation, then upgrade the passes you need to after you check in.

Buy everyone a one day ticket now and when you check in you can change/ up grade your and your husbands ticket. That's what we did last time during free dining. My daughter and I had annual passes, so we saved our one day for another trip. My husband on the other had changed his one day base to a 7 day hopper at the concierge desk after check in with no problem. We just paid the difference right there. This year when we went back my daughter and I applied our one day base tickets towards the annual. Now, this year when we go back she and I will again have to buy the one day, but will save it.

Hope this helps,
Tracy:)

I read conflicting reports about this over the last year. At least one member reported being told that if any of the passes were upgraded, they all had to be. It didn't sound right to me, but perhaps folks should be aware that someone said they encountered that.
