As long as the offer is good on the day you check in, you get it for your entire stay. I'm kinda new to the boards, but I believe that is right.

Yep, you are correct. Even if your check-in day is the last day of free dining offer, you can apply it to your entire stay, up to 14 days. And DondalnDaisy5, I would gently remind my TA of that, as that might be the reason she has your dates "on the back burner." Good luck and email her again ASAP!:goodvibes

So we were originally booked at POFQ and had to switch to CBR bc of the FD debacle. But here's what's weird, I just looked up room availability at POFQ for our dates and it shows availability but doesn't add dining for free. So do they offer the rooms at the resorts without FD? What I mean is, are there still rooms avail at POFQ but only if you want to pay for your dining?

Yes.

They probably just don't have any rooms available under the discount. They only set aside a certain amount. :goodvibes

Yes you can still book POFQ, it was just excluded from the FD offer.

So sorry to hear from a PP that they had such a negative experience cancelling their original reservation with the cast member. :headache: I'm pleased to say that we just called to cancel an original reservation (we had booked free dining online). After only a 10 minute wait, our call was answered and we were able to cancel it with no problem. I wouldn't say our CM was magical or anything, but definitely efficient. I'm relieved! I hope the rest of you find good experiences too!

I was trying to make a change to a room. I just got off the phone with a CM and she said "Don't look for anything to come available for the FD period". I told her that other CM's are telling people to keep trying (the one I spoke with last night said to keep trying as people cancel and more rooms open)

She said "They are newbies. They don't know what they are talking about. I hear them tell people that, and I think 'oh no....they'll just keep calling back." :rolleyes2

IMO cast members that have that attitude don't need to be on the phones. The last one I got was sortof rude/ abrupt too and it aggravated me. I'm spending a lot of $$ (for us) to make this a special vacation for my dd's birthday; I don't want a nasty CM "raining on my parade!"

Boo hiss!

That said; I was playing around on the website this morning and saw availability at POP for FD.. so the ressies are out there; it's just going to take patience.

Pofq is not offering fd this time just room discounts. I was able to get a garden view for 165$ but only staying one night then moving to POR for the rest of our stay.

You have to go into the free dining promo link to see availability of rooms for it.

I've called everyday since the promo came out, as I'm trying to add free dining or room only to 4 different ressies (family trip). And, each day, the CM's have definitely gotten less "magical"
On the bright side of it all, I was able to book FD for my brother for POR! October 19-23. Don't give up hope, keep trying, rooms are being added, or opening up. Good luck to everyone who is still trying!

I think there is alot of frustration out there about the way this all went down , mostly due to the system crash. I believe many people make multiple reservations at resorts and on ADR , thats the way the game has always been played. So always check back later , its always worked for me. A CM told me the most opening at any given ADR is 24-48 hours before the time. Again , I have gotten difficult reservations many times this way , persistance pays off.

Personally I think we should start a cancelled resort thread much like the cancelled ADR thread to give our DIS friends a heads up....

Someone want to start this??

Woke up and checked online to get a POR room and there is was for my dates!! Called and got us transferred back. Dates are 10/19-10/23 and we are a family of five and I snagged a standard room.

Everyone who needs POR keep trying.

Great advice! Great idea! I nominate you!;););)

That works soooo smoothly with ADR's because you can do both online. I think you on to something once they allow online ressie cancellations.:thumbsup2

I have a PAP; We are booked at CBR. We got $205. off our reservation this week when the pass holder rates were published , and I called of course. From the other posts, it appears with FD, your room rate does not go down with FD, but goes up? I'm confused. Does WDW really give you FD or are you paying more for the room with dining added? Is FD available with PAP discount rates? Do I need to call again? For us, if we have to pay for the DPs, they are not worth it. We don't eat enough to make us purchase it and many times we see people rushing around at the end trying to use all their credits up. If Disney wouldn't require you to have day of arrival and day if departure included, it might be but we may arrive in the evening on an evening flight after work and many times we'll be on a 7 am flight home and head straight in to work.
Anyway, if you could shed light on the above, please do. It's one thing (FD or DP) we have never gotten . Is it worth it for F&W Festival? We are also booked in April with kids, grand kids but are staying at FW Cabins and not sure it's worth it for there either. Thanks.

Yes, we do have to pay rack rate for rooms to get free dining. Some of the confusion might have been that some folks upgraded room category or resort category to get the free dining. In some cases this made their total slightly more (or less) than their original ressie, but they got an upgrade. :goodvibes

Hey guys, I'm back home...and look...it's happening!!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

I've never gotten a package before, just realized I'M GONNA GET MICKEY MAIL!:cool1:

I think the past couple weeks have burned my brain with a permanent Mickey Head tattoo.

I know realistically that this is my 5th trip to WDW (well I actually count it as 7 because two of my trips were splits with solo trips attached), but somehow I'm feeling like FD changes stuff somehow. The dynamics are different and there is all this stuff (New Resort, Mickey Mail, MDE, DME, not having a rental full time, Disney Quest, Mini Golf, etc). I'm factoring in a bunch of new stuff, don't know if I'm excited or overwhelmed. :lmao: I love trip planning and I love Disney and I'm loving every minute of the madness.

I leave for a big vacation with my father in a month and I should be planning for that but honestly my brain is in Disney mode.
