No, not new. I booked the cabins just after midnight ET yesterday when the discounts went live. WARNING: you need a golf cart if you are going to the cabins. IMO

Just learned that. We're all set for POR this time....but I'm definitely considering the cabins for next year!! Golf carts-thanks! I'll remember the tip

I was told yest that you are not supposed to be able to book two different resorts for the same time period (even though I had done it)....
I understand both sides too...

I hear ya...but if I have a reservation in my name and one in my husbands....it's pointless and not worth arguing with people.

Used to get flamed for pool hopping....now you get flamed for holding more than 1 reservation. I understand both sides...the aggrevation of an "unneeded" room being booked.....but it's my money....if I want to make ten reservations...it's my $2,000 to do so....

Flamed by Disney or by other guest's? I don't want to sound like a jerk and I do hope everyone get's the vacation that they wanted for their family, but if I have to book 7 rooms on hold to make sure I get the vacation I want I don't see how anyone has any say in that.

Who told you that? You should be able to book as many as you want. If I had the money I would book the Dolphin for my wife, my son and I and book the farthest resort from it for my mother-in-law. LOL J/K

I will have to try that next time. I wish you recorded the conversation so I would know how to approach that situation. And I think you probably aren't in the minority because of how you feel, but because you got the vacation you wanted, as did I. The people who are mad, and understandably so, are the ones still trying to get free-dining for dates they want. But pointing fingers isn't going to help and if they want to point finger's they should be in Disney's direction, not other guest's.

This morning I was able to book online at POR garden view room for out dates 10/30~11/9. We were going even without FD or Room Discount but it sure feels great to save $2395.20 between DH, me, DCousin 17, DS 10 and DCousin 7.

They didn't have POR yesterday besides Royal Guest Rooms but this morning, it popped up!!

It also feels great after reading how people waited hours on the phone but both yesterday and today, I got through instantly after doing the automated section.

When I worked in reservations at a large hotel chain, our discounted rooms did not go back into the pool with the discounts, but rather to rack rate. If Disney does the same, if you book more than one discounted room while you decide where you want to stay, the room you cancel will no longer be available with a discount. I have a friend holding AKL and All Star reservations for the same dates, I didn't bother going into it with her.

I'm not sure why it would matter if you have a non-discounted reservation and then book with FD before you cancel the first? I waited to book my room until FD was announced (more rooms booked = less rooms put into the discount pool), but we just decided to go a few weeks ago so I knew to wait to make my reservation.

You do what yoou need to do to get the free dining and anything goes
and thats the name of the game double up book on line whatever if those having a lot to say wouldnt be saying anything if they had got what they wanted etc.

I did the All-Star Sports. Called in at 12:30pm and got off the phone at 1:05PM
For some reason Sports won't show up on the website for the free dining. I called and got the CM to adjust it

Saved $475.68!

I want to point out that the wdwinfo dining price is off

I did the calculation for the regular season (QS AND DDP)

QS is $39.64/pp
DDP is $58.66/pp

That's understandable and I agree holding multiple Discounted rooms is kind of unfair to other's. I was booked in POFQ (so you know there was no discount involved there) and when the offer launched I knew the phone lines would be nuts at 7 so I did the smart thing and booked myself a room at POR with FD. Good thing too because when I did, Garden view was the only thing available and I now if I waited for the phone's I would have been late to work and probably would have never had gotten my room. But on the other hand, people are free to do as they chose and if they want to book 1 resort because the one they really want has nothing available, why should they not book the other resort if it does become available.

I don't know how it all works and I understand they only set aside so many rooms for the offer but I seems to me that if a resort end's up empty because everyone cancels their rack rate rooms, it would make sense to put some of those rooms into the FD pool in order to get the resort filled. Not sure if that makes sense but from a business point of view I would rather have rooms filled with a FD offer then empty and not making any money on them.

I agree, which is why the offer lasts so long. They will extend it if needed to fill the rooms.
With the phones as crazy busy as they are, I doubt they will need too. MY CM said shes never seen anything like it. October and November are booking at rates never seen before.
The secret is out , and people now understand what many on DIS have for a while. Better to pull kids out of school for this type of trip than fight the heat and crowds in the summer.

You're absolutely right...it's your cash! I was referring more to those who were using a TA. You are paying someone to do it for you...so let them. Instead people got impatient and double booked FD rooms which took away from others (assuming the TA got it). Look at all the posts on here about people missing out. Hopefully more will open up and these people will get their FD wish...

I'm so upset by not getting POR that I couldn't sleep at all. I really hope they open up more rooms or we will be staying off site. I really wanted to stay onsite. If anyone sees any rooms for November 17-26 let me know! We will have 5 plus one under 3. Thanks.

Seriously someone should start a needing POR thread for the FD promotion, there are so many of us. I need an AB room for my fam of 5 for 10/19-10/23.
