They utterly rebuilt their IT using all kinds of different apps and best-of-breed stuff. I was at the annual Disney Analytics and Optimization Summit in the summer of 2012 and was really impressed by the bravery of what I heard about.

A little too brave, it seems and this "annual" summit was canceled this summer, to return in 2104--for, I suspect, the reason that everyone was really really busy on re-work...

That is very interesting. More reading to do..... BTW I feel like I just met an author at a Barnes and Noble book signing. Good stuff right here. Thanks.

I may have confused them. HOWEVER, I am completely addicted to your first visit as well and am now a complete addict of earnings calls, stock prices, and the macroeconomic environment related to Disney because of the One and Only Dave. You have created an analytic monster in me, I'm afraid. And that is a good thing.

Honestly I was being a smart aleck, especially on the humor! I do try my best with the time I have to offer a ton of focused, thoughtful help...including everything you noted--except funny!

Josh's site is so much funnier than mine that he cracks me up more on one page than my entire site does!

Now oddly, in real life--and perhaps on the Dis--I am very funny, and when Josh took me to lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern I didn't laugh at him once!

So I am trying to be a little more fun on my site...and thanks still for the continued kind words!!

We booked Pop Century December 22-28, two day tickets into parks, and free QSDP for a grand total of $2,032.

We will hit Epcot on the 23rd and are paying for Candlelight processional OOP. We will do Christmas Eve at Magic Kingdom! We will have Christmas services at the Contemporary on Christmas Morning and then head to Winter Summerland to Putt Putt golf with Santa (thanks to the two free vouchers we will only pay OOP for one child and one adult). We will hit the deluxe resorts around the boardwalk that night.

On the 26th and 27th our teenaged son will use the two free passes into Disney Quest at DTD and feed his inner video game addict! My husband and I will take our little girl for high tea on the 26th at the Grand Floridian and enjoy visiting the decorations at the Monorail resorts and The Wilderness Lodge. On the 27th the adults will shop at Property Control thanks to a family member CM and enjoy DTD.

Whee!

Add in gas money, spending money, and OOP meals and we will spend around $2500 for a week at Disney at Christmas. Our per person per day cost is under $80.

Well I was able to grab POR for Oct 26- Nov 1- not sure what to do about those last 2 days but at the very least it feels good to have SOME free dining headed my way haha! If anyone sees nov 2-3 open at POR AB let me know! :) :) :)

I'm not positive, but I don't think MDE shows dining package credits anywhere. I didn't see it anywhere when I booked a paid dining back in Feb.

As long as it is on your invoice, you are fine. My invoice from my TA showed it when it was paid and my adjusted invoice showed it as free. Only my total changed.

Any veteran DIS'ers wanna chime in on this?

I was just wondering the same thing. MDE doesn't say anything about our dining plan at all, and I haven't received my confirmation email yet (booked about 9 pm last night). I'll feel much better when I get that email!

So all this...plus Harry Potter and the new Universal hotel...make me think early 2014 for FP+

There you go again making everyone's head hurt on a Friday.

I have so many conflicted feelings about Harry Potter 2. I resent that they built it in a separate park as an obvious money grab. To me it would be like Disney building the new Fantasyland in Epcot. All that aside, I think it will have more draw than the Seven Dwarfs, but I'll share more when I'm home later and can share some numbers.

After all, I might as well hurt some heads too.

Just canceled POFQ for November 16-21.

Waited 45 minutes on the phone but got an amazing CM Bobbie-Jean. She was so patient and went over everything for me with the cancellation and my new trip. She said the POR is "beautiful!" and that my daughter is "going to flip!" over the RR. I'm so happy now. She asked me several times if we were celebrating anything and I said, "no." She said, "Really? What about first trip?" I said it is spouse's and girls first trip to Disney World Orlando. She said, "Wonderful. I'm just going to add "first trip" celebration to your reservation. With this you'll get buttons and you should wear your buttons everyday, everywhere. And you'll find some extra magic!" pixiedust: I feel like I've been pixie dusted already. Such a sweet lady and we're going to Disney World!!!!!!!!

Smitch --
I think I read in an older post from you (like maybe on the first thread) that restaurants like T-Rex hold some reservations that you can make directly through them, rather than Disney?

More seriously, Snorquelle--I've never seen before anything like how helpful you've been to so many, many people this week--and honor you for it.

I completely agree! You're like having our own personal, more knowledge-able CM! You're awesome! :)

We saved $1000 with FD, RO at 20% would have been $235 not even close.

I definitely understand that there is a much bigger savings in fd. For me only a little bit more. I'm paying foe my son a I and I usually don't spend much more than four hundred dollars oop for food. But that's the first time iv seen pofq have 20%off.

After my TA was on hold all day yesterday and half a day today, we are finally booked. And OMG!!!! we are staying at AKL w/ FD :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: It's always been my dream to stay there. I'm so excited!!, Now I really can't wait until Nov 15th.

O.K. Totally cracking up here because....I DIDN'T EVEN ASK!:rotfl2:
I just looked back on my reservation invoice, and it is a standard room.

I have a dumb question. A number of ya'll were talking about geting POR AB. How do you book the specific areas in POR? The choices I saw were simply "standard", "garden view/water view", "royal room", etc. We were hoping for Magnolia Manor or whatever it is called. Got a standard room but it doesnt say which. I'm on hold now to get a couple of things changed so I guess I can always ask the CM to put the preference on our reservation? On hold for 27 minutes now....I should add, if I ever get a CM, lol.

I'm still not giving up on possibly getting FD for POR, but I'm just so bummed about it. I just looked at "regular" availability for the time we're going and there's MORE today than there was last week. Still no FD availability though. Are they trying to force families of 5 to move up to deluxe? I won't. I'll keep what I have, but I feel let down. And, I get that they don't owe me anything and I don't have to go to WDW for a vacation. I just didn't think it would be so hard to get this discount.

Y'all going to love this one...at least those that know the inside joke. I just got a wrong number call...she asked for Ronald!!!!

Hahahahahahahah

Totally understand. This is our first time there as a family and I've never stayed on property or eaten at any of the TS restaurants so FD was the best deal for us. 20% for FQ is fantastic and I'd have taken it if I couldn't have gotten FD. Would have had to get the military tickets and do fewer park days but it's all about being at Disney for me.

Lol...are you sure it wasn't Sylkie prank calling YOU???

I got one yesterday evening after not seeing one all day; I thought I was seeing things. Some other folks managed to get one as well. Keep trying; dont give up! Sending pixiedust: your way!
