Got through and modified our reservation to include FD at POP Nov 11-16!!! Soooo excited!!!!

My brother has 5 in his family. He already had a trip booked checking in on 10-4 at POR. His TA could not get him a room on 10-2 that sleeps 5. Can he book two other rooms that sleep 4 for 10-2 and 10-3 and then move to the room he already has booked? All this to get free dining

Are you a TA? My TA and her co workers have all had problems all day long. She said there's only 2 lines for TA's to call and it's either been busy all day or they have been on hold forever.

Yup! I only called in that once. But, i am on hold again now :/

So I now have two reservations -- one my TA made for me (changed actually) and one I made this morning when I panicked.
My TA one is showing up in MDE but the one I made isn't yet.
Will both show up eventually?
Haven't decided which to cancel yet. Feel like since the TA worked hard today to get it for me and came through, I should stick with her. But I also realize I didn't like being out of control of my own trip! Thoughts???

We are in exactly the same position. Ended up booking online when we could as a backup in case our TA couldn't get it for us. FD saves us over $1500 so we just couldn't leave it in the TA's hands when we knew we could get it online and that rooms were selling out fast. Plus we are in AUS so we had time differences etc to deal with.

BUT our TA has come through for us so we are going to honour our original booking with her and cancel the one we made last night.

We are in exactly the same position. Ended up booking online when we could as a backup in case our TA couldn't get it for us. There are definitely two sides to this dilemma:

If you decide to go with the one you made yourself last night, then you can always have it transferred over to your agent so she still gets the commission for your trip. She did the work and provided you the service.

BUT if you believe you are receiving less than adequate service from her, you'd probably be within your rights to cancel as well. But I wouldn't do that on a whim. I think I would only do that if I was angry up one side and down the other.

Good luck, whatever you decide. And I guess you're doing your part to spread some pixie dust to someone else who needs those dates for free dining!

If there is really no significant difference, those TAs have worked hard, so I would suggest going with original booking. My TA just emailed me that she had been on her computer/phone for 16 hours straight booking reservations for her clients. : )

That will not work. FD does not span through split stays. Can he do two rooms at a value resort for the whole trip starting on 10/2?

Yes I got a PIN for that week. And I think it sold immediately because at my 180 mark I had ressies to make for others and by the time I got to mine, there was nothing left...and I thought it was suppose to be a slow week

He is thinking it over now. Is there some hope that some of the people who are doubled booked will cancel close to the dates that he needs at POR?

Do they still get the same amount of commission? Seems I read somewhere transferred reservations get less? Or maybe I dreamed that ha!

I have a ressie with a TA. They said they have been trying to get through all day but I was able to get through multiple times. I can't cancel that ressie and make a new one to get FD, they can't cancel because they can't get through, and I can make a new one because of double booking. Disney will not let me. HELP!

Ask your TA to do a courtesy hold online for you while s/he waits to get through. You can have a confirmed reservation and a hold at the same time.

Yes, it is possible, but they may wait a bit to add any rooms back into the offer. I would have him book something he is comfortable with keeping now and then he can always keep trying to get what he really wants.

Coming from a TA who has literally spent most of last night, and ALL of today working on getting my clients a discount (which decreases what we make), I say definitely cancel yours

The trip she booked and the trip I booked are the EXACT same, so I think I will keep the one with her. Although I will still be micromanaging things by checking availability for my first two choices daily, and contacting her if anything opens up!
