Great news! Yay! I do still need to purchase PP+ too, but once air is booked things will feel more final and i can focus on that stuff. Our airfare didn't go down yet...still hoping!

It had been up to $414 lately! I was getting a little nervous. Ended up at $278 so very happy. There was one discount airline at $188 but once you figure the checked bag fees and the other fees (we will also have our stroller so don't want a charge for that too), and we have the Delta card so our bags will fly free, it didn't save that much and now at least we'll get the miles too.

Once you book something nonrefundable, it makes it a lot more real!

Thought I'd ask to see if any of you guys know :).... I sent an email to Disney last week letting them know the frustration of using Travelocity. I wasn't sure which subject line to choose, so I chose the one about "my recent visit" then noted in the email to please forward to someone else if necessary. Anyway, I didn't get the quick automated email saying you'll get a response soon. I thought that I possibly did it wrong and didn't hit submit, so I re-did it tonight. However, I still didn't get that automated email. Does it not come through for some subject line choices??? It did when I sent emails about the hotel reservation subject line and the ticket subject line.
thanks for your help!

Can you set up your FP+ the morning that your heading to a park? I have no idea where we'll be and when. When we wake up that morning we'll decide what park we're going to.

Too funny! It's very interesting how different Disney fans can be. :) I am totally opposite. I have itineraries printed out for our October trip (made them in July)... not only which park which day, but what time to leave the resort and which rides to do in which order, where we're eating and what time, etc. My family jokes that I should have one of those tourist flags for everyone to follow, but they do appreciate it when they realize all the fun they're having. ...Or, maybe they would prefer your strategy some days...but I'm not offering it up to them...:rotfl2:

Yes, I would have booked at that price too! You definitely made the right decision. I was tracking one flight that i now over $500! I really wish I could have known I would have gotten FD right away so that I could have booked when airfare was as low as $250. Darn Disney and their marketing!
Yes, and with something non-refundable, my DH can't change his mind about this whole trip! LOL!

Hope the airfare drops for you. Our flights were made long before our package was--because we used awards miles. So our dates were set long before any FD rumors. I just lucked out in that my dates fit the promotion and that I was able to switch to WL from POR (no monetary savings, but we're pleased).

On another note, my 23 yr old DD decided she now wants to go with us. When I booked in December and asked her, it was yes, then it was no cuz she got engaged and now it’s yes again because her future DH will be working during Thanksgiving. This change takes us from 4 people to 5, so as many of you know our options are limited.

I spent an hour on the phone with great CMs. We changed from CBR to AoA. I hope that wasn’t a mistake. We have a family Cars suite and where able to keep our FD+ plan (I did have to pay the difference). I'm sure it will all be great.

So I’m back to stalking the ADR site and this site for canceled ADRs. It seems going from an even number of people to odd creates a whole set of different problems. I’ve been able to increase a number of the one I already had, but of course Chef Mickey and Be Our Guest are little more challenging. Wish me luck.

I only hope when it comes time pick out the nursing home, she remembers this.

Glad your DD can come with you now!:thumbsup2

Just like hotel rooms, ADR's over 4 people are difficult to obtain. It seems Disney mostly accommodates to families of 4 or under. I kind of understand though; that is the majority of families. Good luck with the ADR's. I have been trying for BOG for the last month with no luck for my family of 5.:guilty: But I keep trying every day!

Lol...wow....your waaaay to organized for me. We're totally flying by the seat of our pants on this trip. No ADRs, no pre planned FP.....just going where we want when we want....and I can't wait!

Under your reservations it says "check in online" when you're at 60 days.

Oh ok...so you have to be at 60 days first? I was poking around yesterday to find out how to do it so I was all rwady at day 60 and couldn't find anything.

Thank you. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

So...

MDE: called today to make sure everything was still good despite what MDE showed. Got an EXTREMELY bubbly CM who said all was "wonderful!" with my reservation. She was MADE to work at WDW! I kind of wished I needed help with something else!

DH started a new job last week. Same line of work but total change from where & how (was telecommuting & now has to drive to work AND wear a tie! He works as a computer programmer and they are generally known for their...casual-ness). It seemed like a good move b/c his previous job (of 7 yrs) really wasn't getting him anywhere. His new job, albeit for a smaller (yet nationally known) company, looked to put us in a better financial situation. It will. Eventually. Have any of you dealt with COBRA? His new employer doesn't start benefits until 10/1. We have medical conditions that would be considered pre-existing (even DS4 who has congenital heart defects). We can't afford any lapses so we opted to do COBRA. It's going to cost $3k!!! Just from now til Oct 1. :-( We are already booked for Disney in Nov (just the deposit but our flights are locked in) and will still be able to go. Just pray (those who do) that we will make good financial decisions and that this new job is going to be worth it. It was so heartbreaking when DS woke every day the first week and came crying into my room b/c he couldn't find his daddy (he kept forgetting about the new job). Now, DH goes in and wakes him up before he leaves in the mornings. It was wonderful to have him around for as long as we did- he and DS got to really bond when other daddies would have to settle for picture/text messages during the workday. We were blessed..

Sorry to ramble off topic. I think, though $ will be tight thru the rest of the year, this Disney trip will be just what the dr ordered. I hope so, at least! It's not gonna equal the magic of his Wish trip last year, but we'll be having a blast, nonetheless!!!!!

We booked ours a couple if weeks ago so I refuse to check flights anymore in fear they came down. Lol

That reminds me to turn off my daily Kayak email alerts on airfare prices.......
I don't want to know if they come down more either!

We've been in the tight-money situation too... you will appreciate your vacation all the more for it. Sounds like you have a great perspective on things. :)

Wishing you the best! pixiedust: I know that COBRA is a huge chunk of money, but if anything were to happen, arise, that could be a drop in the bucket compared to total medical costs. One test alone, could be $3K, and I am sure you are aware of that.:) Good luck and prayers sent!:wave2: Disney is the cure for all worries; life is short!::yes::
