Small private plane. They think it was the pilot and 2 passengers.

How tragic. We live near a small airport, too. A small plane crashed right next to our neighborhood (literally) but the two in the plane survived. The pilot admitted he had had a few drinks. He clipped a power line which made our power in the house surge. The two guys were lucky.

April 1, 2010, one of our University of Dayton volleyball players, Kacie Hausfeld, and her father took off from the same airport in his plane. They were going to Chicago to pick up his other daughter for Easter. Somehow something shifted in the plane so he tried to turn around and land, but the plane tipped sideways and exploded on impact. They were very well known in the city for doing a lot of charity work. Kacie used to compliment DD's various hairstyles after pretty much every game. We have an autographed volleyball signed by her that sits in a special spot in our home. The kids signed a volleyball for Kacie and left it at the airfield site. I tear up everytime I drive by.

My prayers go out to everyone involved in today's crash.

So do we....I can see the airport from ny house. Planes fly over head all the time.

CaraMiaBelle - Thanks for your reply! Our TA made it sound like that portion of POR was totally excluded, and there never were any rooms set aside for the free dining promotion in Alligator Bayou.

I will try to contact Disney a few times and see if something opens up. If not, my next choice will be to travel at the end of Jan. 2014 and pay OOP for our meals. There is a good chance that something - probably a room discount - will be available at that time.

Hi, my family is of 5 and I was able to get PoR AB with FD but was able to book it various date after release of the offer. Keep trying! Actually, I was able to book for 5days/4 nights first and was able to added days when they become available. Now we are 8/7.

What room type did you get? I'm trying to decide if I should try to get my TA to find a Preferred or Riverview room, or leave my reservation alone as standard and request the building I am hoping for. I don't think I've heard anyone request a building in AB before though. I know it has sounded like most everyone gets the requests they make.

Monorail Yellow yellow broke down this evening between the TTC and Epcot and had to be towed back in. Guests were on there for about three hours....yikes.

Nooooo. My worse nightmare. I hope it was not super packed with people. I hate going on it when its that packed for this exact reason...

For those doing split stays (and have a car) what is your plan for your check out/ check back in day? We will arrive Sunday at AOA for one night. Monday starts our FD package at Pop. That Monday is a HAS day ( I know how important rope drop is) so should we put our stuff back in the car, leave Aoa and drive to hws (and hope they can activate our package tix since we wont have checked in yet) or should we drive to pop, check in, leave luggage and take a bus? We do have another hws day that we could make sure we made rope drop for! Any advice? What's everyone else doing?

We were originally booked before FD dropped w standard, but had to upgrade to garden view. It's a small price to pay for 8 days of meals for 5 people! I now if only MDE would work so I could see my date countdown haha!

Today was a little depressing. A plane crashed about 3 miles from my house (I live near Tweed Airport) and the house in crashed into had a 1 year old and a 13 year old inside.

Everyone hug your kids extra tight tonight.

I'm a new DVC member and booked my vacation 10/27-11/2 at SSR a couple weeks ago. How do I get this perk? We are planning on adding a dining plan anyway, so this would be awesome! We are also planning on buying the annual passes, haven't done it yet.

DVC reservations at least those booked with points are not eligible for Free Dining, You can add the dining plan and pay for it.

That's still cool!! Do I need to do anything to get my magical express packet? I booked package and air with Disney, so haven't had to do anything else. I don't have to order them do I? Sorry, first time without TA.

Generally Mickey Mail & DME tags don't come until around 30 days before your trip. I always book air separate from package & all you have to do is call Disney and provide flight information.

I think were staying the same dates(11/10-11/17) were doing a split stay doing pofq on 11/10 then switching to POR on the 11th. In order to receive the fd you have to check into POP first. You could checkout of AoA, have them transfer your luggage to POP, drive over to POP to check in and get your tickets with the fd then I guess it's up to you how you want to handle your transportation over to HS. We're going to mk that day to avoid the crowds then we have an adr at trails end in the campground at 6:15. But I think we're going to checkout of pofq at 8:00, walk over to POR to ckeckin, eat breakfast then grab the bus to mk.
