Ok..another question.... I booked our trip through Travelocity and saved the $409! :goodvibes :goodvibes :cheer2: :cheer2:
I called to cancel the trip booked directly through Disney. I used my discover card for the $200 deposit, but used my Disney visa to pay the balance off just the other day (I had given up on any discounts, since we were at POR during blackout FD days.) The CM asked me if I wanted the refund to my discover or visa, I said discover. I put the Travelocity ressie on my discover, so the Disney refund will wipe that out for me on my Discover. My question is.....Do you suppose I will still have 0% on the Disney visa, since the charge is still on there (and was booked through Disney)? My guess is yes. My statement should be coming out around the 14th. How can I tell? Does it specifically state something about 0% on it? Thanks for your help!

It will state on the bill the amount getting 0%, but I would be very surprised it the refund does not show up on the correct cards for the amounts you charged on each. Even with gift card payments, the refunds go back to each gift card used. I'll be curious to see what becomes of this. Keep an eye on it and let us know what happens. Good luck!

Today was a little depressing. A plane crashed about 3 miles from my house (I live near Tweed Airport) and the house in crashed into had a 1 year old and a 13 year old inside. :sad1:

Everyone hug your kids extra tight tonight.

OMG! That's horrible.....glad it wasn't your house though. Big plane or commuter?
Bear hugs are in order.....I couldn't even begin to imagine how the parents are. Heartbreaking.....

I believe it covers all non-refundable costs. I booked my trip through Disney and will book airfare directly through the airline so don't think it matters if it is through Travelocity or anywhere else. I just tell them the full trip cost of hotel, tickets, dining, airfare, even MVMCP tickets. I never have had to file a claim so I'm not sure how hard it is to use the policy. I just feel better knowing I have it.

Good to know. I am seriously considering it. You just never know. My DH is diabetic and has other health issues, too.

I was really surprised she asked that, too. Now that I'm thinking about it, I bet she was new bc when I asked if my dining reservations would be ok, she said she didn't know and said I would have to be transferred to dining to find out (then she transferred me). This was a basic question that most people know (including me, but I am paranoid :)), so she should have known that. I'll let you know what happens. :)

Joe, I completely missed your birthday. Happy Belated! I hope someone got you a bottle of Rum!

Small private plane. They think it was the pilot and 2 passengers.

I saw the news article about this. So sad! I was just yelling at my 13 year old DS for flicking my 7 yr old DD. Now I feel guilty. My heart breaks for those families.

It definitely puts things into perspective.

Sooooo........before FD rolled out I was booked at the AOA Nemo Suites. When I found out that FD didn't include AOA I knew I'd have to have a back up. My first choice was POR, but when I called FD morning (chaos!! :scared:) there were no rooms at POR for our dates, but CBR was available. We took it and were pretty pleased with our decision. I have two little girls (6 and 2) and was a little bummed to let go of some sort of themed resort, but CBR looked beautiful and from what I read fun for children. A few times since then I pulled up the WDW site (just for fun) entered my dates under the FD promotion just to see what I would get. Less and less rooms came up every time I checked. And yesterday CBR and POR were completely sold out of FD rooms for my dates. This morning I did the same. CBR was sold out, but when I pulled up POR low and behold what do I see....A ROYAL GUEST ROOM AT POR!!!! I'm thinking no way....I didn't even think they included those in this promo this time around. I called DH quickly and wondered his thoughts. Of course he knows his girls will love it so he says "Call Disney!" So I do and wait on hold with that nervous feeling thinking it will be gone before I talk with a CM. Finally my CM picks up, I ask her about it. She even thought hmmmmm. She checked and there it was!!! We got it!! I'm so excited my little princesses will get to stay in this room and with such an awesome discount like FD! Sorry for a long long post. But like my title says I'm sharing with those that understand the excitement!!

Doing a happy dance!:cool1:

Yeah!!!!!! :-)

I called the 407-W-DISNEY number to cancel my ressie this evening and was on hold for over 30 mins (but less than 45 I'm guessing)....
I was also on hold for at least 20 minutes around 5ish when I called to ask questions about cancelling.
Apparently, the phone lines are still having trouble keeping up!

I was trying to cancel a reservation today where I had gotten a FD one when I was able to change my dates. Anyway, was on hold about 16 minutes about 1100 before I had to give up. Called back about 1900 (7pm EST) tonight and held for 30-45 minutes and finally made it.

Had a GREAT CM, very friendly and "magical" - got my cancellation taken care of, transferred the deposit, checked on any "events" that my be occurring while we were there (our anniversary), and got into wishing us well and noting it, etc. Very pleasant.

I asked her if they were busy and she said "yes, very", but agreed that was a good thing...

I still wonder if the pleasant one's are WDTC and the more rude one's tend to be with CRO.

How tragic. :sad1: We live near a small airport, too. A small plane crashed right next to our neighborhood (literally) but the two in the plane survived. The pilot admitted he had had a few drinks. :furious: He clipped a power line which made our power in the house surge. The two guys were lucky.

April 1, 2010, one of our University of Dayton volleyball players, Kacie Hausfeld, and her father took off from the same airport in his plane. They were going to Chicago to pick up his other daughter for Easter. Somehow something shifted in the plane so he tried to turn around and land, but the plane tipped sideways and exploded on impact. They were very well known in the city for doing a lot of charity work. Kacie used to compliment DD's various hairstyles after pretty much every game. We have an autographed volleyball signed by her that sits in a special spot in our home. The kids signed a volleyball for Kacie and left it at the airfield site. I tear up everytime I drive by.

My prayers go out to everyone involved in today's crash.

That is terrible. I can see why you tear up every time.

Oh that is awful! Where r you again? So sad.

I live in East Haven, CT.

I always buy insurance. This trip and the last I bought it through Allianz. I think it was $150. My husband gets sick a lot (and not just colds, hospital-requiring things) so just too big a chance. Like now, he has kidney stones. Not obstructing at the moment so they don't want to do anything. But my luck they will move about a day before we leave. We don't even tell the kids about the trips, not for the surprise, but because I am honestly worried we could have to cancel it for an illness.

Had lithotripsy for kidney stones last week... I can sympathize. Hope he feels better soon.
