Free Dining Oct-Dec Is Here!!! (And a whole lot more) ~ Part 3

Well, I still haven't been able to get a POR room so instead of paying extra for CBR and not being super excited about it, we went back to POP, which we have stayed at previously and know. I just couldn't see paying extra for something I wasn't truly excited about. I'm less and less hopeful about getting into POR (we need two rooms) so it will be what it will be. I even called this morning to check for a pin code, no luck! We will have a great time anyway!

I bought MNSSHP tickets in June for the October 31 party. I was worried it would sell out, but according to disney website it's still available for purchase. Is that unusual? It would be nice for a lower crowd!

I'd do the Friday party. I would rather sleep in and take advantage of late party hours, and you might be too wiped out after all day in AK. We have been to a November MVMCP and it wasn't super crazy, and crowds really thinned out after the first fireworks.

Yes , i am thinking the same thing. But i almost always goto the parties during the week. anyone ever done a Friday night party? I would love to see attendance difference from a week night to a weekend
.
I am of the mind that with F&W the previous week , and TG the next week that most parties that week should be fairly mild.

I know I was shocked the last party because it had been a few years since I had done it. The crowds went up alot, taking the value of the ticket down a bit for me because we went for lower crowds.

Anyone know about how they handle a party ticket if you are already in the park?

Not unusual at all. Last year it didn't sell out until Oct. 28th, but that was later than normal. Count on it being sold out at some point. It always sells out. It is possible that the Nov. 1 party will sell out first since it is a Friday.

There is a box you have to check to link the ADR to your dining plan. Just give the dining reservation line a call when they are open and they can fix it for you.
I am having the same problem. Where is this box to check? I can't find it. I also was offered free dining yesterday and my trip is paid off. I wonder how long it will take to show up on my credit card?

Fridays will always be more crowded because of locals attending. If you are already in MK, you can go to one of the in-park wristband locations to have your ticket scanned. There is usually one in Tomorrowland and one in Adventureland.

Don't give up. We need two rooms too. I ended up making 2 online reservations, in addition to my original reservations, and called and a really great CM cancelled and reconnected our rooms. Only thing, all I could ever get was RGR river view. I did this last Mon. & Tues. Good luck!
Oh, we didn't care much for CBR either.

I have a TA and I don't want to step on her toes. I have to hope that she's checking as often (or more so!) as I am and will be able to get us in, FX!

Hi all, I need some help. We were able to get FD for only part of our stay and then tack on RO rooms for before and after FD period. I would so love to just have one reservation, or even split between 2 reservations, rather than three. It works out OK now, but if I see a room available with FD on the 1st day, is there some reason why it CAN'T be applied to the entire stay? It just confuses me. When I look online only 6-night reservations seem to apply FD, and when I add a day there are no rooms available with the discount. It just want to stay in one room and not have to shuffle my family around if at all possible! Oddly there are other non-discounted rooms at the resorts I am looking at without the discount for the dates around 6-night FD slots. :faint:

Thanks!

Finally might have found a way to link travelocity tickets for anyone who needs to know (or who needs to link other will call tickets). I spoke to someone at Disney's Internet Help Desk tonight. Finally found someone who seemed pretty knowledgeable about what I was having trouble with! :cool1: She said to try this on an iphone or ipad with a camera. She said if it doesn't work, don't panic bc sometimes it doesn't work. She did say, though, that it works much better than trying to put the numbers in. I'll have to try it tomorrow...using a friends iphone. :)
Download the my disney experience app.
Login the same way you do on the computer.
Look for 3 little bars in the top left of the app.
Click on tickets and passes.
You should see an option to input or scan the ticket.
Choose scan.
Scan ticket.
Should load ticket.
Then you assign a ticket to each family member.

Ok...so, I tried this this morning on my friend's iphone, but it didn't work. It said that it didn't recognize my tickets and to call the help desk. I was on hold for quite some time, then was told that Travelocity buys tix in bulk, so the ones I have may be old (still valid, but old....for example, from 2005). If so, the new Disney online system will not be able to read the tickets. I shared that I am quite concerned about how anyone will help me at Will Call, since I've called at least 7 times now and no one recognizes my tickets or can help me to get them recognized. I called ticket services at 407-566-4985. The man there told me that he used to work in a different dept of tickets so he understands this a bit more than most people. He said that Travelocity and Disney have a very tight security agreement. He said the tickets are in the system, but are securely locked away for security purposes. He said that beginning 3 days before the tickets become valid (they are only valid for our travel dates...as are travelocity tix), then the exchange will occur and Disney will be able to see our tickets in their system. So...I'm going to sit patiently (and bite my nails down to my elbows!) until Oct. 2nd, then try again to make sure they can see my tickets for our trip Oct. 5th. If anyone knows anything about this, or has a similar experience with travelocity (or orbitz or expedia or?), can you let me know? I'm beginning to think I should have spent the extra $409 to stick with booking through Disney.

I just spoke with Dave ( from ************** ), who is currently at WDW. He called from his room and confirmed the bounceback for free dining.

Once again, those staying between Aug 1 thru Nov 15 of this year will be able to book this bounceback and must do so during their stay.

The dates available to book will be Aug 20 thru Sept 29, 2014.

I know a big plus to a bounceback offer is that you can only get it if you are in WDW, but is there any other perk? Does it have any deeper discounts?

Ticket prices usually go up in the summer so you will have bought at old ticket prices by the time next year rolls around.

No guarantees it's offered to the public. Every year around April, everyone gets in a big worry and wished they had booked it. Another perk is wider dates. Notice this covers the last two weeks of August as it did last year, where the public offer was only for September this year.

Oh my that is so exciting!! Thanks for sharing! I will have to be planning in the back of my head but keep my big fat mouth shut. If my husband, friends, or co-workers hear the words Free Dining and 2014 come out of my mouth BEFORE my current trip..... they will probably kill me! :rotfl2:

Will there not be a bounceback offer for people going in mid December this year?

Thank you! So I guess free dining bounceback is for people going earlier in the fall and a room discount for people in December?

The schedule is typically late Nov/Dec.-early August is offered the room discount, and mid-Aug-mid-Nov is offered FD.
