FREE DINING in Nov. and Dec. 2008!!!

The CM added it up for me and we would have saved $200 if we moved our dates, but we already have MVMCP tix and dining reservations, so it's not worth it to change our dates. The cool thing is they would have applied the free dining even though we already have a 40% room discount!

What hotel are you staying at, and how many adults/children do you have? I'm imagining you are mistaken about getting both discounts, Disney generally never does that. Rather, I'd guess that the cost of the DDP over 7 nights for 2 adults and 2 children ($671.72) just comes out as being about $200 more than your 40% room discount (this is the case if the avg nightly cost of your room is $168 or less)

Yes, I think you're right. We are staying at CBR- 2 adults, 2 children. I didn't mean that they were going to give us both full discounts (although that would be great) but the CM I talked to indicated that using the Visa discount would save us another $200.00.

It is not a special code or a select email- it is for ANY DISNEY VISA cardholder. You don't need an email to get the deal. go to disneyreweards.com click news and offers to get the deal. I think your dates won't work though (12/14-12/20) but just to let you know- it is not a special email code.

I wish I would have know about this. I just got back and it was SO hot. We only went in September because of free dining. Would have loved to go in November or early December instead.

Last night, the CM said that, for December, you need to check in between 12-14 and 12-20 and leave by 12-25. The code worked for our trip December 17-22.

We got the free dining but had to give up our room discount. I wonder if it becasue our original discount was QXD, the one with dining. Did you use that code or did you use the room only code and add the Visa code? I wonder if I had used the other code (the one without dining) would I have gotten both? Do you think it is too late to add that code if I can find it again?

I just found the code (I think) but the system is still down so she said to try back, she didn't know if it would work or not but said we could try it. I can't imagine it will, but can't not at least try...

So, thoughts???
I hate to be greedy, I am pleased with my price, but won't turn down saving a bit more...

As far as those getting room discounts in addition to the Free dining-this seems to be only for the dates in Dec.-because they are considered during the holiday season-not value season. And several people have reported on other threads that it doesn't seem to be a discount on Deluxe rooms, only values, and maybe mods.

I am waiting on Fed Ex to bring me my Disney Visa-I just switched it from a Chase Freedom and they put a rush on it for me. I am keeping my fingers crossed that there are still pkgs available since I only need to switch my current reservations to this code. We will be staying Dec. 15-20 at Pop so I am hoping for the room discount as well!

I asked this question yesterday-I was told that as long as you will be with the party, you can. In our case my DH's family is all going with us. So I am going to put their reservations on my card as well as my own. So if the CM was correct, then I should be able to get them the FD.

OK, I got threw and while the person was very nice, you said cannot double up on discount codes. I didn't figure, but it was worth the few minutes on the phone to be sure. Still, saving $1700+ on our trip is great!!! We are going to really enjoy all our meals that I had planned!!!!!

Our original December package was about $4,800.00 for 8 nights at POP with 2 rooms. With the Disney Visa free dining code applied the total is about $3,200.00. That saves us about $1,600.00, which is the cost of the dining plan.

I called about our existing ressie w/ AP discount. The CM said that we could buy 4 1day passes and use them as credit when we renewed our APs next year. This sounded like a really great deal, until we realized that our dates wouldn't work . Oh well, I still got a discount on the room...

Well, I went to Disney's site and put in my dates and a one-day pass each and the total was $875.51. The total with the same dates, one-day tickets and free dining with the Visa code was $693.30. So there must be a room discount in there somewhere.
