Free Dining for October 2014

If free dining comes out for October, can you apply it to any existing reservation as long as you are staying the dates it's available?

We've booked our room for October & would be better off with a room discount but I don't see our room type being available for a discount so I'm hoping we'll at least be able to take advantage of free dining.

No. There will be exclusions to the FD offer and the rooms will be limited. If you don't think you'll qualify for a RO based on room type, chances are it'll also be excluded on FD. What's the resort/room type?

LM rooms at AoA, campsites, Grand villas, GF villas are more than likely going to be excluded. POFQ/ASMovies will possibly be excluded.

Having a room booked at rack rate does not make it automatically available to add a discount.

I don't think those have been excluded, just limited. Hopefully the offer comes out soon and it won't be a guess anymore!

Has anyone actually been to any of the parks on Halloween day? Is it crazy?

We were there that week last year and it was fantastic. We used touringplans' crowd calendar and just picked the parks that were a 1 or 2 and walked right on or had short waits on nearly everything (except for Soarin', TT, RnR, etc). Although they're predicting that crowds will be slightly larger this year, they're still mostly at 2s and 3s, so I plan to go again this year at the same time and was just stalking this thread to see about deals. It will be 180 days for me on Tuesday so I'm just finalizing plans now.

The promo will likely be released to Disney Visa holders on Thursday, May 1st and to the public on Wednesday, May 7.

The likely dates included are:
August 31 - October 3
October 26 - November 1
November 9 - November 20
December 12 - December 23

Ugh!!! Back in January we reviewed cut of dates for the week before Tgiving, and based on past history decided to fly in on Friday, Nov 21! I think it is probably worth it to change one ticket & come a day earlier, if it is only thru Nov 20 this year...

I wonder if they will add additional days later? We made our reservations waiting for the free dining the week of October 18th as it was last year. There are bound to be some cancellations as we will likely consider.
