Free Dining for my Mom- sharing the happiness!

I just had to share somewhere, because you know how sometimes something so good happens that you just can't keep it all to yourself? And who better to understand than everyone on the DIS!

We are coming to the Fort this Christmas- After almost a year of trying to talk my mom into joining us- she finally agreed~ she has been to Disney but it was over 15 years ago with my dad. He passed away 3 years ago, and while she misses him very much, she is doing ok. But health wise- she has bad knees, and other minor things. She is in her early 70's but to me seems eternally young... So it was a major thing to convince her to go- I just so much wanted her to be able to share in the joy of her grand children at Disney- they are 8,8,11, and 11. She's never gone to Disney with young kids, so to go there and share it with them- I just so much wanted her to have that chance.

We made her reservations about 2 weeks ago- she is riding down in our motorhome with us, and then staying 10 nights at POP, and then the last couple nights in the motorhome with all of us. (should be cozy! LOL) Well- we used my email and computer to make her reservations- she doesn't have a computer. And yesterday what do you know-she got a PIN for free dining. And the last available day offered just happened to be 12/22- the day we are arriving there! So I called last night and got everything set up and free dining added to her reservation! 10 whole days of free food! What an absolute gift for her- she was a little worried about affording everything extra down there, and this has made such a huge difference to her - it's just like it was a special blessing given to her so she can really enjoy her trip--- maybe that is silly, but it just feels like maybe my dad is smiling down on her right now....

So I just wanted to share my happiness for her with my DIS friends- the only thing better than getting free dining yourself is having someone you love (who could really use it) get it.... Thanks for letting me share!

Thats great what a nice suprise, I just got the email today but we already are booked for this June so we probably won't be taking advantage of it. Your Mom will have fun with the kids, we took my mom well into her eighties, she loved Disney, have fun!

Hopefully, serenitygr, your mom will have less to worry about ($$$$) and that will let her enjoy being with you and the kids more.
