Free Dining Fall 2015? (and a whole lot more)

Don't pay full price if there's a discount available! Take 2 Advil and save that money! :)

LOL, I hear ya! But man, I was on hold for like 2 hours while they tried to tweak a reservation I made a year prior and they couldn't get me my dates or my resorts and we had flights booked, etc.
What a mess. This year I haven't booked airfare yet as we may drive so that saves me some

This is my goal. Between (hopefully) free dining, opening the Disney Visa for statement credit and another card* with travel point promotion, I'm hoping to not only get the dining free but also our flight for free.

(Chase Sapphire Preferred, $400 cashback -or- $500 in travel credit signup bonus if you reach certain charge requirements...not an ad for them, just spreading the deal, if I may. I'll edit it out if I have to.)

So if we make adr for Hollywood and vine a 11h30 with fantasmic..we are put in a section where caracter dont go? when I look at hollywood and vine description I think they say that they have caracter at lunch..little bit confuse.. I wnated mama melrose at firt but they dont let you makr adr after 4 pm it s pretty sooon to eat diner for us
Yeah I don't see how that would work. Pretty sure you get to see the characters at lunch even with Fantasmic package. But I did dinner last time, so I'm not 100% sure.

Has anyone stayed at all star music or sports? If movies is going to be excluded I have to choose another value.

We stayed at All Star Music 2 years ago the week of Labor Day. The resort was fine and we didn't have a problem with the buses. When we drove back to the parking lot by our room we did get lost. It is very confusing. If you are walking from the front desk it was fine. We got mixed up with Movies. This happened twice on our trip.

So if someone were to check in on the last day of free dining ex. Oct 2 check in, would the dining apply for their whole stay? I thought it did but wanted confirmation :)

Another question here. I see some people suggesting to go online and book a new reservation for FD and then just cancel the other reservation. Would this also cancel all of the dining reservations you have already made under that first reservation? I don't want to do that!

Yes, I am going to take a wait and see approach, but I'm also going to go back to the beginning and compare prices for offsite, DVC rental, and even Disneyland. Originally, it looked like FD might save us the most money, but if it's off the table than there might be better options for us. I think it's a little late for DVC rental, but I guess it doesn't hurt to check it out.

I think we're going to try for DVC rental also if the free dining dates for December stay true to this rumor. I had contacted DVC Rental Store back in January to inquire about renting points. They seemed pretty confident that there would still be availability at the 7 month mark. So it might not be too late as long as you're flexible on resorts.

Can't you book a room only de

Does lunch work the same way - 90 days in advance? I thought lunch was by email invitation only

The email invitation period is over, you now book lunch at 180 days online like the table service dinner. I did so for my dates. It's only breakfast that's 90 days.

My understanding is that it will not affect your ADR. Your room and ADR's are not connected.

No, it's won't affect your dining reservations. They aren't connected to your room reservation. I changed dates and still had my original ADRs.

ADRs are by name, not resort reservation.

How does it know to give you the 180+10 then? I have to log into my reservation to get the 180+10 through MDE
A resort reservation opens the +10 because your name is on the reservation. It has no connection to the resort booking itself.

My husband will be checking into a resort a day or two before me. Is it possible to book free dining? I don't mind waiting to use credits, but is it even possible if I am not with him when he checks in?
