Free Dining Fall 2015? (and a whole lot more)

My question is if we paid our trip off completely but paid on 3 different cards- 1 on Disney Visa, 1 debit card, and quite a few gift cards- Will they refund us on 1 card or refund the amount to each card used? I'm not sure how that works

I have done this in the past. I was told that I could have my funds returned to any of the forms of payment I had used. So if I wanted it all to go back to a credit card, it could be done, as long as I had made a payment with that card.
They had to put a special request through to the finance dept to have it done that way.
This was a couple of years ago, so it is always possible that things could have changed since that time.

You would think that they have several decent IT guys, but yet still had terrible problems and glitches with the rollout if MDE and such. I bet it will all be the same restrictions as usual. It was probably just something that didn't translate well into English.

I definitely hope you are right. All of you know Disney much better than I do! :). Even when someone got a friend from SA to translate it, the wording was vague and made it sound like it was only a possibility. So I'm going to just hope they wouldn't bother with changing it in December. I'll be so glad when we know something for certain!

Ok, so I just want to make sure I have this straight. We plan on getting to Disney Sat Oct 24 and staying through the 30th. If we get a one day room on the 24th, and 5 nights (25th through 30th) for free dining, how do my tickets work?

If I have to have at least two day ticket for free dining, I'd want put all 6 days of tickets on the check in on check in on the 25th for free dining. Can I use my tickets on the RO check in on the 24th? Or do the tickets not become active until the day of check in for the reservation that the tickets are bought with?

Just a fair warning: we did exactly this last October. We stayed at Pop. On the day the free dining package started I checked out & checked back in at the desk to make sure everything was good to go and to start our free dining days with our free mugs. When I went to the food court to get them it said we weren't on the dining plan. I was told to keep my receipt and I could be reimbursed. I re-confirmed that with the front desk. They told me I may have problems my first day due to the reservation switch over and to keep my receipts. We wanted to use all of our snack credits at F&W. We had problems all day. Many of our receipts got accidentally tossed or misplaced including my mug receipt! I ended up just bringing home 6 mugs for the 3 of us and struggling to finish up our snack credits. KEEP YOUR RECEIPTS! I would also recommend paying using your Magic Bands so they can keep record of it if you lose them...which was another problem we had. One time paying with the MB worked fine, another time it said we were over the limit (our first purchase), another it said I didn't have the ability to charge with the band. And that's pretty much how it alternated our whole 8 days there. Oh and then there was the day I spent a half hour late at night in the lobby because our bands stopped working on the room door despite the fact we had just gotten back and my family was getting around for bed while I went to get a drink then came back and couldn't get in. Still had a great time but, yeesh!

Question. I just spoke with our TA and she said that since we got the summer room discount, if free dining happens when we are there (late August) we wouldn't qualify for it because we got the room discount. Has anyone heard of being able to get the room discount and free dining?

You can only apply one discount to your reservation. Either free dining or room only discount.

AS Cath said you cannot combine discounts. However, if the free dining saves you more, you certainly can switch to that one.

I am trying to price different things out on the website in anticipation of free dining and can't remember if the prices on the Disney World site for the packages include tax. Do they?
It will give you a total. I've seen the tax listed sometimes and sometimes not. It's hard to figure out sometimes.

We had problems all day.
I had a similar problem when I checked into the POP last fall and I didn't have a split stay . . . should have been straight forward. Late night check-in at 11 pm but appears that front desk neglected to add the DP to my account. The next morning, I tried to pick up my mug in the food court and was told I would have to go back to front desk to straighten it out. Went back to POP front desk, they redid and advised I was good to go. While waiting for rope drop at AK that same morning, I had some doubts, knew that I had lunch and dinner ressies later that day, so I went to Guest Services at the gate to triple check. They scanned my band and advised that the DP was not showing up. They then fixed it. Bottom line: 3x was the charm. Hopefully, these issues were simply the system working out kinks but having to go back to either front desk or Guest Services 3x is a bit much for guests to deal with. And this should have been a simple stay with DP. I cringe about the possible problems people with split stay ressies may encounter.

It's my understanding that yes, you can. Which makes sense to me, since under normal circumstances, you could make that upgrade. It's basically just taking off the cost of the quick service plan. Disney will be happy to take more of your money. =)
Great thank you!!

I have a ressie for

11/20-11/30 CR garden wing standard view

they do not have the same room type left for the 19th. I would have to move to the more expensive garden view. Which is actually a great deal more at over $1200.

pass the cheese for my whine
Can't you book a room only de
Originally it was a test only to end in June but now I see you can book into July too. From the official site : "Reserve Your Table Now
Lunch and dinner reservations can be made up to 180 days in advance, and are strongly recommended for all meals, especially dinner. Breakfast reservations can be made up to 90 days in advance."
I'm not sure how the 10 day thing will factor however.

Does lunch work the same way - 90 days in advance? I thought lunch was by email invitation only
