Free Dining Fall 2015? (and a whole lot more)

we did utilize our DDP to the fullest with TS/Character Meals and it turned out to be a 'wash'
This year we are only doing 2 character meals (now which two? hmmmm)
OK . . . I get it. I don't do character meals so I forget just how $$$ those can be. Probably a very good value on the DDP if hitting a number of them. In terms of character meals, I've heard that Tusker House at AK is very good. But I haven't done it myself so not positive. I've also heard very good things about Cape May Cafe Breakfast at the Beach Club and 1900 Park Fare (Grand Floridian?) Good luck!

In the past (hopefully I'm not jinxing myself), I've always gotten an email when an offer came out for Disney Visa card holders. I know a lot of people said they haven't...I wonder if it's an account setting on whether you opted in to receiving promotional offers or not?

I too get an email sometimes, but it's much later on release day. Last year I got the email around 2pm. I already had my booking done by 8am :)

Last year, I had to cancel my Aug 31-Sept 6 vacation. The CM tried to arrange alternate days for us, but it wasn't possible to go due to work. Oddly enough, they offered us free dining August 16, which if I'm correct is two weeks before the general public dates last year. When I asked her how she is able to offer that, she said it is a promo they offer for Canadian guests only.

Has anyone heard of this before? Historically, has Disney always released promo extensions to international travellers?

I ask because we are scheduled to arrive Aug 23 this year, hoping for free dining!

I wish I lived in Canada right now. We're going the same week you are and I'm so afraid that those of us here in the US with August plans are not going to be within the parameters of the FD offer.

My dates only have limited rooms in POR & POFQ. Have a feeling people are booking assuming it will give them a leg up on FD. However if thats true they can likely kiss FD good bye altogether. At least for Mods. Looks like lots of availability for Deluxe & Value. Not a good sign.
I don't think so, I'm sure Disney is aware that ALOT of those booked up rooms WILL be cancelled if they exclude that particular resort from Free Dining.

I usually get the e-mail too, but not until later in the day.

The name on the Visa and the name on the reservation do not need to match.

I'm not sure this is correct. During t he last promotion the CM told me they were cracking down on this for the future. So I would be careful and prepared for them to not allow the booking.

Is the visa offer (when it does get released) posted anywhere so be able to see the restrictions, restorts/dates?

I'm waiting on the GP offer but interested to find out if for you visa memebers, does it get posted somewhere or sent to you? Meaning the resort options and date options? Hoping someone posts here when it does but I'm sure they will :) I'm so use to already having an idea of restricted resorts and available dates from these threads.. This year has definitely thrown us a loop.

Someone will post them all here, then eventually, the email to Visa holders will be posted here. It gets posted on the Visa page and an email is sent, but...the board will be on top of it and most of the time posters beat out visa actually posting the offer! So, just keep an eye out!

I totally dreamt last night the deal happened this morning, so I was so eager to see the UK one and in hopes that the Visa would have it. I'm almost glad I'm not doing the Visa so I can kinda figure out what day it happens and I can come into work a little late. I hope it all works out!

Maybe this has been answered but does anyone know what the UK offer is?? dates? resorts?

It is really odd. there is this great sense of letdown. Happens every year when there is a false alarm.[/QUOTE
Awe! But....I bet the optimism builds again when the next rumors start to fly! This is all so intense!

Just a little side bar for everyone.... If you do call at 7am on Monday PLEASE let us know on this board the outcome :) It helps out alot to know if the FD promotion is released or not so a million people arent calling in for nothing or if it IS released knowing its worth being on hold for an hour lol
I absolutely second that request. And...it sounds like this does happen anyway because everyone is telling me that people here will know about the Visa offer before Visa lets Visa holders know! It is a tongue twister!

I thought I heard someone in the reservation party has to have a DV. Like if you book 3 rooms then you only need 1 cardholder to get the discount with all 3. I'm sure you can call Disney and ask.

Great! You were really lucky then. I guess it depends on how flexible and by what authority the CM is willing/can do. It was Disney Magic working for you!
