Free Dining Fall 2015? (and a whole lot more)

Well sadly I could not make my ADRs today. I kind of figured that would happen, because I have a 1 night stay before my 7 night stay. Was hoping the whole period would open, but just one extra day did due to the 1 night stay. Tomorrow is another day.

How long does it take to receive your Disney Visa card after applying? I want to apply today to get the $200 gift card w/ first $500 spent (going to pay some if my trip balance off) but I'm worried that I won't have my card in time IF free dining is announced. I wanted to get the card for a while and even though my dates (10/16-10/26) will probably be excluded, I still want the $200 gift card. Also, how do you go about requesting the gift card after you've charged the $500? Do you need to redeem points like the AAA Visa?
Mine came in 5 days but my email said 7-10 days. The gift card will come automatically.

When families of 5+ book 2 rooms at POP and request connecting rooms do they always get it? I always hear it is just a request and I would hate to risk not having connecting rooms, especially with small children.

We don't plan to go back to Disney until 2017 as baby #4 is arriving this June. However this thread has me obsessed and today I priced out CBR for early September and it averaged 187/night excluding tax. Pretty sure that's cheaper than POP. However I think transportation at Pop is better. So many things to debate between! And no we won't be going this September but I like to do practice planning!
I can't for the life of me understand why people give CBR a hard time about transportation. My family and I prefer the transportation there.
Scenario #1 POP You get to stand in the hot sun or rain and wait in a line with a bunch of other people.
Scenario #2 CBR You get to sit on building covered benches. You don't get wet, you don't cook in the heat and after walking in the parks for days, who wouldn't rather sit than stand? It takes a whole 2 or 3 minutes to pick up the rest of the stops. Easy peasy.
Just sayin' ;)

If you have a split stay, one day then seven, you can call and make your ADRs for the whole trip today. Just have both confirmation numbers handy.

Agreed! We love CBR! With two little kids the option to be covered and sit while waiting for the bus was a big plus for us.

I was informed by a TA, one of my go to Disney sites, and by Disney itself, that if the number of children outweighs the number of adults, they will guarantee connecting rooms. In our case, it is 2 adults, and 5 children.

Disney is getting better at keeping "special offers" sealed until they are officially released. There is not one leak on what dates FD will cover this year to help us plan ahead. All we have to speculate, are dates from last year promo. April 27 seems sooooo far away :coffee:...

I applied two days ago and instead of a gift card it said it was a statement credit that would be applied to my credit card account.

Try calling them. We had a one night stay last year and they made all my reservations for me for the full week when I called.

7am on the phone, 6am online I think
Why is that? I need to call because I have this nightmare about modifying online. Here's the scenario: I'm playing around on the website and by accident, I hit "cancel." I frantically try to retrieve my reservations to no avail then I am forced to call and by that time, everybody and their grandmother is in front of me on the phone queue. After 3 hours on hold listening to that extremely loud music (although I do enjoy the Grinning Ghosts song), a CM named "Jasmine" cheerfully tells me, "I'm sorry, but there's nothing available anywhere," and my whole vacation has disappeared before my eyes.

What is a bounce back? I keep reading about them but don't know what they are. Thanks.

It's an offer during your current stay to come back the following year. It must be booked before you check out, and you must put the $200.00 deposit on the new reservation.

Correct - we have a Brady Bunch and they adjoin and split one adult with three for reservation purposes. Never an issue.

I have no idea, I'm just trying to remember what I've read. I think as long add you avoid the cancel button you should be good :)

If it is a room discount bounceback, it is just a one night deposit when booking just a room. $200 would be for a package. :)

We prefer one stop because it's orderly and we know we will fit onto the bus. We went to a Poly stop to head to DTD and even though we were the first people to arrive at the stop, everyone jumped up and got on the bus before us. Annoying! Lol! As for standing in the sun or rain, we do that in the parks and live. Another 10 minutes is not that big of a deal. Lol! Different strokes for different folks. :)

Good to know your perspective. Thanks! Makes feel better about CBR :)
