While August is a popular vacation time because the kids are out of school (although some school boards now require children to start the term much earlier than the traditional Labor Day Weekend), and September has become popular recently (largely because of
free dining and F&W), the reality is that Florida weather these 2 months can be terrible. If it isn't the heat and humidity, it is the lashing rain storms. This is hurricane season after all. I recall that last year, many people who went in September complained about the never ending rain. While some can definitely suck it up, trudge on and enjoy fewer lines in the rain, others have small children who would be miserable. I personally prefer the end of October and early November because the weather is generally much better. Different strokes. I also realize some people are very limited in their vacation time and when they can take the kids out of school . . . so they may not have as much choice.
