Free Dining Designing!

Hi Jennifer!

Good luck with this potential new job! I'm in accounting too and sometimes the jobs headhunters have look realllly good! :)

Love reading about all of your trips and plans!! :goodvibes

I hope Charlotte has a great first day of school today...

Love getting new shoes... I have a shoe problem - but we all know that already. ::yes::

Good luck with the job interview and fingers crossed you get it! That's awesome!

OK - all of your trips have my head spinning, I can't even keep track! LOL They all sound great though! How far are you from WDW again? YOu must be close? LOL Wish I was that close - it costs me almost as much for airfare as it costs for the trip... OK 50%, but still... THink of all the trips I could take if I were closer? LOL

Looking forward to meeting you!

D~

Sorry I missed you earlier, D~, we were posting at the same time.

The girls are both doing great at school so far, Charlotte actually started a new class about a month ago, and she is settled in pretty well. After one full day of 3rd grade, Peyton likes it so we are off to a good start!

I love shoes too! I'm a little picky about mine, I almost always buy Nine West, they fit me well and we have a Nine West Outlet close by so I can find deals there and at DSW, usually. I haven't bought anything new for awhile though, so I have a bunch of worn out shoes in my rotation right now. When I start shopping again, I'll have a lot to buy :goodvibes

The job interview looks good for now, I'm waiting to hear back about compensation, but we're not too far off so hopefully it will work out.

It takes about 2.5 hours from our house to anywhere at the Disney World Resort, assuming we don't get too caught up in Orlando traffic. It's not a bad drive at all, and doesn't even take us a full tank of gas. We are very spoiled! If we ever move and have to buy airfare for 4, Disney will be a once a year or every other year proposition for us.

I am looking forward to meeting you too!

Welcome! I am checking my email way too frequently for news about the new job! It would be a really great fit for me and it's nice that it's kind of fallen into my lap. Accounting :scared1:, sometimes I seriously question what I was thinking in college!

Thanks! We have a lot going on right now, but for a lot of different reasons and occassions. Once we start using our passes again, we'll probably slow down a bit, we just need to break them in a bit first :rolleyes1

My second interview is Friday morning at 9am, which I guess means they've come to terms with the compensation :goodvibes

Out of the blue yesterday I got a text from my mom saying that she's not sure she can do Disney without a scooter. We had talked about it being a possibility before, after her stroke in May she hasn't been as steady on her feet, but she hadn't said anything about it in a long while. So, last night I was scrambling around trying to rent an ECV. It actually wasn't too hard and we are all set now. I hope it will work out well for her.

I tried to call and see if I could get Charlotte in for her first hair cut at Harmony Barber Shop, but I was on hold forever and finally had to give up so I could do other things. I'll try to call again later today.

I feel like I'm not making much trip progress this week, but it is the first week back to school and I will be working from home part of the day on Friday and then taking part of the day off so I should be able to get everything done on Friday if I have to.

At lunch today I will be running to the mall - I don't have anything in my wardrobe that fits that I can wear for a second interview! :scared1: Other than that, just hoping to get a million things done at work today so I don't have any problem taking my half day on Friday. Also, must start dieting so I can fit into the clothes in my closet instead of buying a whole new wardrobe!

I found a dress at the mall yesterday that will work for the interview so I'm all set on that. I also got a call yesterday afternoon from a friend of mine that is a headhunter about another job that is similar and closer to my house. She should be sharing more details with me later today. I am trying not to get my hopes up because I will be so disappointed if things don't work out.

Again, I did nothing to get ready for this very fast approaching trip. Except call Best Friends Pet Care - they still haven't had any cancellations so Cooper may be stuck here in town! We'll find out for sure today.

Trying to get through some work today. My boss took two of my worst reports off of my plate, so I'm hoping for smooth sailing today. I need to run to the library at lunch today to return some (past due :crazy2:) books!

Hope everyone has a great day today!

For those of you that are so good about getting your pictures posted to your reports in a timely manner - how do you do it? My system clearly doesn't work well!

Sorry I've been gone a few days. I have to say I envy all your trips to Disney! But if I live where you do, I would be doing the same thing!

So glad school is going well for Charlotte and that Payton is enjoying 3rd grade so far. That's a huge hurdle I know!

Congrats on the job interview and second interview and now this new possible job offer closer to home. I have to believe God is working in your life here and that is exciting! I'll pray for the best outcome possible, whatever that may be. Would you still be able to work from home with the new jobs??

I'm glad you were able to get a scooter for your Mom. I'm sorry that she needs it, but what a blessing to have them so readily available when you do. As for your birthday trip, as you know, my son got a room at FQ for $74. He did through price line, but knew what he was getting and how much ahead of time. You might try that. It would be so much more fun than not spending the night. LOVE that boat to DTD!

Well, I have to scoot. I'll be picking my sister up at the airport in an hour or so. And it's a 45 minute drive to get there. Hope you have a great day and that your boss takes more work away from you. haha

I would watch Cooper for you in a heart beat!!!

Good Luck on your interviews!!!! and picking up your sister!!! :cheer2:

can't wait to hear how the interviews go!

Just a quick check in to say we are back and we had an awesome time and my family totally got in the way of my DISmeet with D~ so I didn't get to meet her :sad1:

I am going to try and get my pictures loaded ASAP so I can share this trip before we head out on the next one!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Just a quick life update - I spent Friday and Monday negotiating my salary for my new position, got the official offer on Tuesday, and gave my 2 weeks notice yesterday. I am excited and apprehensive (I hate change). I know that this is the right move for me and for my family right now.

Next week is my very busy time at my current position. I'll be working this whole weekend to prep for it. I'm thinking I may not start my trip report until I am officially out of here, I just don't think I can spare the time right now. I have a lot to get done in preparation for others to take over my work.

Hope everyone is doing well! Can't wait to read all about D~'s trip and the final preparations for Mo's and Lois' trip. What a busy Disney time for us all!

Ooooh, I came back at just the right time!!! Congratulations on the new job!!!

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

I'm sorry to hear you didn't get to meet D~ after all. Maybe one day.

The visit with my sister went better than expected. If I have time, I'll write an update on my ptr.

I hope you have a better weekend than you think you will. Take some time to relax with your family and chill a bit. I hope you can!

Congrats on the new job! It's always hard to make those kinds of life changes. I guess that's why I've been at my job for 19 years. Actually I really like my job and the people I work with - so much that a year after I left to take another job, I came back!

l will do replies when I have a little more time but I just wanted to jump over here and let you guys know about some potential changes for our "big trip" - the 4 nights in November wtih free dining that started all this madness!

Since I took the new job, I was able to change my vacation dates a little bit, I was originally going to have to go back to work on Friday so we were heading back from Disney on Thursday. Now, I am able to take Friday off as well so we have some flexibility on our dates, although no more free dining. I started to run some numbers, just to see, and we could actually keep our dates but stay in 2 rooms at POFQ for about $300 less. I also played with the dates a bit, and we could still save money and add a night or 2 at one of the All Star Resorts. We're going to talk over all the options this afternoon at my parents' house but I think we may be moving from AoA.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

My dad left this morning for work - he'll be home mid-October. So, yesterday while we were visiting with my parents, we talked through our Disney options. We've decided to cancel free dining at AoA - now that we have our APs, it really isn't a very good value. And, after talking about it at length yesterday, we are going to do without the dining plan all together on this trip - we just don't think it really fits the way we eat or want to eat plus we have a Tables in Wonderland card so we are thinking it will be more cost effective without it. We looked at all of our options yesterday and this is where we are now - keep our original dates (4 nights) and move to POFQ or add on a night at the beginning and end of the trip (6 nights) and move to All Star Sports. 6 nights at All Star Sports is actually about $30 cheaper than 4 nights at POFQ. We'd happily pay the extra money for 6 nights at POFQ, but unfortunately, it's not available. The deciding factor is going to be if they have room for Cooper at Best Friends Pet Care for the extra days. If they do, we'll book the longer trip and enjoy an extra park day and some down time :)

Back to work for me this morning. Hope everyone else's weekend is more exciting than mine!

Well, Dan's weekend wasn't any more exciting than yours. In fact, he's at work as I type this. He's probably the only one, but he has things to do that no one else can do. He has been stressing so much and that just isn't like him. He can't sleep any more than 4 hours. He wakes up and can't get work out of his mind. I hope he'll be able to get it out of his mind while we're at Disney!!

I would definitely go for more days!! Even though you get to go pretty frequently, it's nice to settle in for those extra couple of days. Sometimes at the 45 day mark, rooms open up, so you might try stalking the website for openings at FQ. I hope you do get to spend extra days, no matter what resort you end up staying.

Well, I've gotta scoot and get over to the condo. Enjoy your day if you can!

When I called yesterday to change our reservations, the only thing available was POFQ for our original dates. I went ahead and booked it - we have 4 nights at POFQ without dining. I am already stalking the Disney website hoping we can add days at POFQ or maybe even add two nights to the end at another resort. I'm sure something will open up over the next couple of months!

Stalking the Disney website has paid off - at least a little. I checked this morning and POR was showing available for 5 nights so we went ahead and switched. 5 nights at POR. I'm still hoping we'll be able to add a 6th night, but 5 nights at POR will work for now :goodvibes

Yay! Glad you were able to get an extra night at least... Hopefully you'll be able to get one more. :woohoo:

Congrats on the new job too!

D~

Thanks! I'm going to keep watching for one more night!

Congrats on the new job too!

D~

I am very excited about the new job and I definitely need a change. I was at the office until 11:30 last night, 9:30 Tuesday night, and worked from home until after midnight on Monday. I was so frustrated yesterday - I felt like I missed my own birthday being stuck at the office. I'm starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel, if I was going to stay I think things would be getting better but it's just too little too late.

All I did yesterday was work so I have nothing to update. Hope everyone has a great day!

I'm so glad you got an extra day. I love POR too! Good you'll keep checking for another extra day. That would be ideal. Either resort really. Doubles your chances.

Wait, did I miss your birthday? And anniversary? Am I confused? In any case, HAPPY EVERYTHING!

I'm so sorry you are having to work so many hours! Is today your last day? I lost track of the time. I hope you are able to enjoy your weekend with your family and not have to stress about work. You deserve some fun time!

Well, I'm heading out to work at the condo. So much to do…..

We've only spend one night at POR, but we liked it. We prefer FQ, but I'll take the extra night at Disney. I still have my fingers crossed for adding another night, and maybe getting to switch back to FQ. I think if we could add that last night I'd be open to staying at any of the values or moderates except All Star Movies - no way I'm dealing with a food court renovation during free dining. I'd be hesitant at CBR too, just because of the double beds. At this point, I'm content with what we have but hopeful something will open up.

Our anniversary was Tuesday, my birthday was Wednesday. I worked 29 hours over those 2 days so I pretty much missed my birthday and anniversary too ;)

My last day is actually Tuesday - I wanted to give 2 full weeks notice and it took a couple of days to work out compensation and get the offer letter so it ended up on an odd day. I'm going to take the rest of next week off and focus on some organizing and decluttering around the house that I never have time for. I'm also going to get a pedicure and maybe have lunch with some girlfriends so I can enjoy some of the time too - honestly though, tackling some of the projects around the house and getting them off my to do list is going to be enjoyable too.

There will be no work stress this weekend. Epcot tomorrow and a day off on Sunday - as of now we have no plans for Sunday although I think we will try to run down to our Disney outlet since it will be closing soon. I am ready for some down time with my family - DH has been holding down the fort this week and he does a great job but we both hate when the other has to do it all on their own.

Hope things at the condo go well. Off to check and see where we can have lunch at Epcot tomorrow :thumbsup2

Back from our day trip to Epcot! We had a great day. The park was empty - 5 minute wait for Soarin' at 10am, 10 minutes at 10:30. It was so nice to have such light crowds.

I'll do a mini-TR for this day trip sometime soon!
