FREE Dining but with Military?

I have a 7 night trip planned at YC for Sep.I am willing to switch to a participating resort if need be. The trip falls on the dates that are included in Free Dining. Now I read that if you want to upgrade your free dining to Deluxe (what we already have) you can pay the difference and it will be more but the question here is, can I even get the free dining when I am getting my room at the Military Discounted rate? Just asking before I call them and ask about it.

Usually you have to pay rack rate to get free dining. As in, you only get to apply one discount. For example, we like to go during fall when there's usually a room discount or free dining offered. We have to choose the discount or dining, no combining.

I may be wrong and the military can do this, but I don't think so. I think you have to buy the dining or the room at full price and the one discount rule applies.

Would be nice though! Never tried the dining plan since the room discount is better for us at the deluxes.

Call Disney and check, but I think you can do it if you buy a one day ticket from Disney in addition to your military ticket--when I was asking it was just a theoretical question because I can't book yet for Dec 2015. I am calling in August to book my military package, but I have called a couple of times with questions because this is going to be a much bigger trip with 3 families, 3 linked rooms, and people who have never gone to Disney before.

I may call just to ask since I am not buying tickets from Shades of Green. I'm buying them from Disney since it's not a very big difference in price for six day park hoppers. Once I pay for the four day military and then two days regular. So maybe since I am buying full priced tickets but we shall see!

They won't let you have both promotions on the same reservation.

Yes- they don't allow you to double dip.

Free Dining is a special offer that requires a package with room at rack rate, minimum of 2 day tickets for everyone in the room 3 years old and up and a minimum 3 night stay. You will need to do the math to see if free dining or the military room rate is a better discount for you.

They will not let you do double discounts; i called and asked earlier in the year

BUT you can buy the mil. tickets and get a mil. discount on just your room
