Free Dining Announcement by April 12

how does one get an email discount pin #?

The e-mail I got was from "Disney Destinations." It was addressed to my family and specifically mentioned the vacation planning DVD I had ordered some time ago. Looks like that is one way to possibly get on the list for a code.

I recieved an email as well, but mine was for disneyland ,ca. Which i have never been to and not planning on going too. I am planning on the last lweek of August at WDW. So who knows.

Can someone tel me what ADR means? Since I am kinda new at the abrv. thing and if there are any other abrv. that you think I should know please fill me in. Sorry I know I am dumb.

Thanks.

the adr lingo started 2 years back.
i always called it ressies and still forget to say adr when talking about resturant ressies.....

btw....

I just called CRO and tried to book a package using the pin code. It is "room only" code. No DDP allowed :sad1: I have no idea if that's significant or not, but since I was trying to book for 9/18, it may be due to free dining??

I think Disneyjunkie is right. This years bookings will be different because of the prebookings they already had. They just won't have as many packages left.

BUT I do not think that means you should book now if you haven't. All that will do is hold you a room, not a free dining package. If your resort is out of free dining packages, you have a rack rate room. In fact you might be hurting yourself because if Disney sees a resort is fairly full, they might not offer as many packages for that resort.

So my question is this. I'm extremely paranoid about my new travel agent missing the announcement (he's only part time) and not being on the phone at 7 am pacific time the morning it comes out. We need 4 rooms. If I book them myself can I transfer them to him? I know you can transfer ressies with the cruise but I wasn't sure about WDW packages?

Thanks!

I did that with my current package. Booked it myself with Disney then later transferred it to AAA. All I had to do was sign a release form.

I believe the answer is YES. I booked the Bounce Back back in November while I was at WDW and then transfered it to my TA when I got home:thumbsup2

Thanks everyone! If I wake up Friday (:goodvibes ) morning, and there's a package and I haven't heard from him...I'm booking myself!!!:)

Did Disney offer it to Disney visa cardholders first in 2005?(the possibility of booking before the general public )

We got the free dining last year and had to wait 'til Apr. 4th because we don't have the visa card. I wanted to know if this was common that they offer it to the cardholders first or was last year the first time that Visa cardholders could book before the general public.

Pepam:wave: ,

I was just wondering if the disney vsa cardholders were offered first dibs on booking in 2005 & 2006??? I know they were last year but I don't remember about 2005.

This is a time I wish we were living in the USA...we aren't lucky enough to have the Dsney visa:sad2:

Stil waiting for some replies!

Free dining last year was offered for all resort classes. I remember because we went 2 months before it was offered and the Cast Member from WDT was trying to get us to change our dates to get free dining. We were in All Star Movies and it would have been included. The thing is, all the deluxes sell out real fast when free dining is offered because it saves people so much money that they upgrade to a deluxe. The moderates sell out quick also. We were gonna change out dates to free dining but the moderate and deluxes we wanted were sold out. The question is......Is it just a certain ammount of rooms they offer the promotion with?

Honesty...I'm calling in my ressies first...lmao

But I would be nice enough to come back and post for all of you vultures :lmao:

*I'll be a vulture if I am not the one to find out first though. peck peck *sharpening my beak* ;)

I'd call in first too because my luck, I'd post then call to do mine and they'd be sold out. Now that'd be funny...well, maybe not funny....ironic

I just booked with AAA this morning and the TA told me he hadn't heard anything regarding free dining however I used my Disney VISA so hopefully he will call me and give me a heads up if they do offer it. However we are going in the beginning of Aug, does anyone think it will be offered that early?!?

My TA didn't have a clue either, but then she really hasn't had much of a clue about anything current. I have been the one to inform her about a lot of things.

We are also going early August. From what I've read so far, it looks like the dates will be 8/26 - 9/22, but of course nothing is certain until it is. :)

Also waiting but our trip is Sept. 27th and I won't change even for free dining as I want to be in Disney for my birthday and MNSSHP and the start of Food and Wine! Then there is the monorail drinkathon for DH! It is going to be a busy trip for us!

I just got home and had a phone message from my AAA TA. She said that she was on the phone with Disney today and that the Disney person confirmed that free dining would be offered on April 12.:cool1:
