I won't have the extra $$$ to book a free dining package until Mid May. We must stay at a value resort or DH won't go at all. Do you think I will be able to get a room by then or will all the free dining packages be sold out by then? I don't care which of the value resorts. I plan on going in Mid september. Please tell me I have a shot at this.

It would seem to me that the values would sell out the quickest since they provide the greatest cost benefit.

You don't have to pay for your package in full at the time of booking... only a downpayment... 20% is what I seem to remember. Is there any way you could get the money to pay just that much for now?

Here's some pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: Hope your plans will come together!

To book a package its only a $200 deposit and the balance will not be due until i think 45 days in advance.......which would give you until approx. the start of Aug. Good luck..I would call and make it soon or the Values will probably sell out...

Last year for free dining I waited till the last day that it was available (before they extended the dates) to book and the only value I could get was POP for the first week of free dining and I couldn't get it through disney I had to use a wholesaler (Funjet Vacations). It wasn't the resort I wanted but I was able to get value resort so if the specific resort isn't problem you shouldn't have too much trouble. Also keep in mind that if you book through disney when you call they will hold a ressie for you for like 10days before you have to pay for it but call and make sure before you take my word but I know last year they did this when they only had a mod and I decided not to go w/ it.

I was going to suggest the same thing. If you can swing it, put down the $200 deposit and get a reservation now. When my Travel Agent called yesterday morning, the only thing left at Pop Century were Preferred rooms.

I think you may see some people move their current reservations from Values to Moderates due to the savings they will see with the free dining, but I'd be afraid to count on it, especially if you must have a Value in order to make the vacation happen (which was true in our case).

Because of the bounceback and UK previous offers, it's really hard to say. But going in mid-September helps--I would guess that would be their slowest time, since it's after Labor Day and school starts, but before the MNSSHP and F&WF crowds.

Having said that, if there's any way you can manage just the $200 deposit, I'd do it. If you have the Disney VISA, you get 6 months no interest on Disney vacations, so you'd only have to make minimum payments for a while. Good luck!

Last year we booked a room on the very last day of the extended deadline at ASSports and had no problem. Not sure why other people were having problems prior to this.

I BOOKED ON 4/9 IN THE MORNING AND ALL THAT WAS LEFT IN THE ASMOVIES WAS PREFERED. I ALSO ONLY HAD TO PUT DOWN $200 AS A DEPOSIT. IF DISNEY SAYS THAT THERE ARE NO MORE ROOMS LEFT CALL A TRAVEL AGENT, DISNEY USUALY LEAVES ROOMS AVAILABLE FOR THEM, IT HAPPENED TO ME THIS PAST DECEMBER, DISNEY SAID NO MORE VALUE ROOMS AVAILABLE AT ALL BUT TRAVEL AGENT GOT ROOMS FOR ME THE SAME DAY I SPOKE TO DISNEY.:cheer2:

Thankyou all for your responses. I won't be able to put the $200 down until Mid May so wish me luck!

May LUCK be with you;)

I was also going to add...that most of the time when you book your vacation you don't need your deposit right away. I think when we booked ours we had about a week and a half before the deposit $ was due. If you'll be useing a CC or debit card you could wait until the last day the depoist is due...meaning you could actually book your vacation a week or more before you actally have the $$ for it. Just an idea. I think anything helps when your in a pinch.
