Free Dining and 2-Yrs Olds

It doesn't offer dining plan for kids under 3 so they say they allow them to eat free off your plate. If you look up the dining plan on their site, it will show that.
Another poster on a separate thread ran into some trouble and was charged for his 2yr old. They weren't suppose to charge since he didn't order a separate meal for the child. I don't know how it turned out as it just happened. But I know Disney was wrong in doing so based on what the OP said happened.

The way I understand it is: dining is tied to you nights of stay and your ticket. So, you get free dining credits for everyone in your room with a ticket. Unless you buy your 2 yr old a ticket, you will not get credits for him/her. So, no snacks, no counter service meals.

Dinner: children under 3 are free at buffets -- they can have their own plate and drink and you can fill it at will. At non-buffet TS meals, your 2 yr old can eat from your plate without incurring a plate charge. However, a kids' meal and drink is NOT provided free of charage. You will either have to pay out of pocket for it or use a kids credit for it. Make sure you remember to tell your server how you want to handle it -- OOP or credit.

Last September, our 2 yr old was sometimes charged for his drink, sometimes not. At Akershus, the did give us a free kids' meal...don't bank on it though.

Free dining does not include your 2 year old. We had this situation a few years back. You'd have to buy a ticket. I guess that depending on how long you are going for and how much your 2 year old eats, you could book one day base tickets and save it but its probably more trouble than its worth and I don't know if you'd end up saving anything anyway depending on where you are eating. At buffet restaurants, little kids can eat for free so there's not point there and kids meals at CS don't cost too much anyway. And we had more snack credits for me and my husband than we could use anyway. We ended up buying snacks to take home the last night. With the dining plan, there will be more than enough food for your little one.
