Free Dining 8/26-9/22-Anyone Else Hear This?

Why are the mods deleting the name of the site where you can find info? Isn't that the whole reason for having this forum...to keep eachother up to date on the latest info?

Not that there aren't enough hints in the thread to figure it out...I did (and if I can, ANYBODY can...LOL)

I am new to this site...but one of the things that I have appreciated about other Disney sites is their willingness to work and share with other Disney sites. Is this one different? Are links and names of other Disney sites deleted with hopes of keeping people on this site?

Just curious...I really don't know.

The mods are deleting the info cause it advertizes another company or website and not their own. If you go to the main page of our site it will (soon) hold all the info that is needed about this deal. As it stands, this is all a rumor. It is not a forsure thing yet that free dining is being offered. Mind you I can't wait to find out more and I can almost bet that there is a 90% chance it will be offered.

Lets hope they start a little earlier in the month as we get to Orlando on 8/19 and leave 8/31, otherwise we would have to get a split stay with free an payed DDP. And cancel the Swan again as I have this booked for the last 4 nights of our trip.

I put the web site on one of my notes that I wrote on this thread, but I got in trouble for it... I didn't know you couldn't write a place like "that's" .com:confused3 But I actually read it on here on someone elses before they edited the name off of her thread....

Oh Well...... I am usually so good too!

I don't think so, we have a Dis Visa but I haven't recieved anything yet... Not last time either?? I dunno:confused3

We get paper Disney Visa bills and we didn't get any special notice last year. We just kept watching these boards and it worked out for us. I can't even remember if it we found out on these boards in advance or on the same day on which we could book.

Good luck!

Why would the dates for US residents be different than the ones they offered for the UK back in Aug of 2006 for Aug of 07? That would mean that UK residents get free DDP from 8/12-9/29 and US residents would loose out a few weeks. Usually when they offer things, they offer it the same across the board.

so is it worth opening up a disney visa account now?

We like ours. I don't think you have to pay anything up-front to get one, and we have gotten some good deals the past few years because of it. In 2004, we got a special "pay for 4, stay for 7 deal," and last year free dining opened up to us first, so we were able to get the resort/dates/category we wanted, which is a "good deal" considering it didn't cost us anything. Chances are, we would have gotten that resort and category without the Visa, but we'll never know.

In the past, promotions have been offered only to those opening new Visa accounts, so I don't know whether to suggest waiting for such a promotion. One could hppen for this summer/fall...

We don't mind the 1% Disney Dollars that we get on all our purchases. It's a nice little bonus savings account, and we always end up with a few extra $$ we can use for a dinner show or souveniers.

We already have a MYW package booked w/ dining for the first week in September. We are going no matter if they have free dining or not.
If free dining does become available to the public do we have to cancel our current reservation and rebook again w/ the free dining?
Will there be a chance we won't get the resort we currently are staying at?

After my math, it is only $80 cheaper for us at the CR with free dining than the AAA discount.
Does that seem like it is right?
So, if free dining is sold out or not offered at the CR, then maybe we should keep our Tower MK view ressie with AAA. ??
Now, my parents on the other hand will get a steal staying at the All Star Sports.

Just curious...does your math include out-of-pocket expense for food?

Is CR with Free dining $80 cheaper than CR with AAA discount?
OR
Is CR with Free dining $80 cheaper than CR with AAA discount plus the amount you will spend on food?

If it is the first one, then you are saving a lot more than $80 because you won't be paying for food during your trip.

If your a Disney Visa Holder... How will you know if free dining becomes available? And If and when it does do you call Disney direct to make your reservations and say your a card holder or do you make them another way? This all really confusing!

Speculation is that free dining will be offered 8/26-9/22 if booked 4/12-6/24. I hope this turns out to be true for those of you waiting and hoping!:wizard:

This is still SPECULATION & a RUMOR
(just to get people to talk)
and that means just that there is
NO Fact that this is true.
Does anyone have an Official Statement?
from Disney that this is the Definate True Statement.
I will believe it when I see it straight from Disney!

Anyone?

There's a ton of information on this thread here, the Official Free Dining Watch 2007 Thread. I believe the answers to your questions are in there. If I'm correct . . . you probably have to cancel and book a new package, and you may or may not get the resort of your choice.

And of course all of this is speculation . . . we don't know exactly how they're going to implement a promotion they haven't announced yet.

If, and it's a big if, the program works the same as last year, Disney Visa holders were able to book a few days (I believe) earlier than the general public. Just call the regular WDW# or the 800#, you will be asked to put the deposit on the Visa.

I did have to cancel and re-book since they didn't have WL woods view only courtyard view, but others were able to just switch over and have free dining applied. We lost our AAA room discount and paid RR for the courtyard room, and free dining still saved us over $1000.

If free dining is offered and you visit these boards you will know for sure!

Ask if free dining is available for the dates and resort you are currently booked at before you let the CM switch things around. Don't know if it is worth getting the Disney Visa just for this - last year they extended the booking time to get more people to take advantage.

And to add to what craig15 said, cheepbop, you might want to check the #'s again. Free dining is usually a pretty big savings depending on how many people and how many nights you are staying. Food is expensive at WDW!

US residents who stayed on site last December were able to book the same weeks that the UK residents book.

The general public, has a shorter window to work with.

Well then you'll just have to wait for an official announcement from Disney. I doubt if they'll announce anything before April.

I've used The Unofficial Guide for many years. I don't believe they'd post that information on their site if they weren't certain that it was going to happen.

The key word here is " Unofficial",

They are not "Official"
and are not Disney.

I have the CSR for 8/19-8/26 and just tried to switch w/ my travel agent. The CSR is not avail for 8/26-9/1. It's so much work to remake those ressies and re-plan the days, etc., etc, etc. I don't want to give up CSR, so I guess I will just pay for DDP OOP and live with it. Also, my TA said the concourse is not on DDP. HUH! I have the 2007 pocket book which says it is. Now I'm really confused. SHe is suggesting Port Orleans or C. Beach as other options. With free DDP and cheaper airfare, it would have about $400. Any suggestions from my fellow Disers?
