Free Dining 8/26-9/22-Anyone Else Hear This?

ok, I just want to be certain so please don't flame me, but if we were to check in on Sept. 22, we would get free dining for our entire stay even though the other days are outside of the time frame right? I just want to be sure before I go booking anything. Last year I was safely in the timeframe. Oh this would be sooooo wonderful if it's true!

Last year we checked in on the last day and we got free dinning for the whole stay.

I still say that Disney is not stupid and have been doing some type of discount for many many years, dont you think they know alot of people make ressies hoping for free dining or whatever discount for aug and sept which are slow months and then for no reason at all All Star music or whatever is almost full........

allerobed

If it made you more comfortable i would change your dates, do what you feel is best for you......

Brooke:)

Of course they know. However, that doesn't mean the package will be offered at ALL resorts for the entire period.

Many times when discounts are released, people will post that they couldn't use the discount at their first choice of resorts. It doesn't mean that the resort is sold out. I just means they reached their allotted number of rooms for that discount, for those dates.

The last email code I received was for Christmas 2005. When I called to book, I couldn't book PC or All Star Movies. The only value resorts I could book with the discount were Music and Sports. Now, if I was willing to pay rack rate or use a AAA discount, then I could book any value resort.

Personally, if these are the correct dates I think it stinks! Free dining would be the only way I could convince DH to make another trip this year. As far as Disney Visa, you would think they would give a few more perks to those of us who use their card on a regular basis (and pay their outrageous interest rates at times). To have an offer that lasts less than a month (8/26-9/22) and that is the only thing you offer all year does not say much for what they think of their cardholders. At least last year it went from the middle of August to the end of September.

Sorry to rant but I really needed a vacation this year (can you tell??) and I can't pull 3 kids out of Middle School at the beginning of the year. I guess someone other than Disney will get my money.

This may be the craziest question ever posted, but here goes...If you are a Disney Visa holder do they send the invite out via mail? I don't receive a paper bill anymore so I don't want to miss out!

I don't think so, we have a Dis Visa but I haven't recieved anything yet... Not last time either?? I dunno:confused3

This would be great news for me!

Thank goodness we are doing the parks after our cruise!

This is our first summer trip to WDW.

I called to day to get dining ressies. When I asked if Cinderella's castle was availiable for breakfast between Aug 30 and Sept 3... I was hshoked at the response... "Its available all those dates". WOW! That's a first.

I made all my ressies for my whole trip. I was able to get every restaurant for the date and time I wanted. So late Aug/ early Sept must really be dead.

Debating whether I should make the room ressie and the 1 day park tix w/DDP in advance.

I sympathize. My DH teaches middle school and DD12 and DS11 will both be in middle school next year. I can't do it late August either. DH has to be back at work on Aug 13th. When you're a teacher you get no travel discounts ever.

After my math, it is only $80 cheaper for us at the CR with free dining than the AAA discount.
Does that seem like it is right?
So, if free dining is sold out or not offered at the CR, then maybe we should keep our Tower MK view ressie with AAA. ??
Now, my parents on the other hand will get a steal staying at the All Star Sports.

Well, nothing "official" has been announced yet so you'll have to wait and see.. just like the rest of us.

Here's hoping this is true as we'll be arriving on 9/7. I hope the dates are a bit longer than they are speculating so more of you can enjoy it.

We are due to arrive at POR on 8/25 - changing to the 26th is no problem. What would you all do? Should I just reschedule now or wait and see if they may change the dates for free dining??

I'd wait. You already have reservations in hand that might have to be changed due to availability. So changing dates at this point wouldn't benefit you at all.

Have a great trip either way! :wizard:

I'm tempted to move our trip in a week, we were originally going 9/22 - 9/30.
Now I think I'm going to arrive on 9/15. Just in case these dates are correct.

My package date starts 8/25 as well. I will wait to change my dates if the dining does come out as predicted. My only problem is I will be away without the internet from 4/6 - 4/14. (I know - hard to believe that ski condos exist without the internet). I have to rely on my AAA travel agent to change my dates should the free dining emerge while I am away.

The dates of 8/26 - 9/22 actually seem very realistic to me. I have traveled to Disney in late August for several years and it is a very slow time. They do need a promotion to fill in those dates.
