OK everyone. I get it I was offended at first too. Those of us who had the intention of going with or without free dining are excluded from smitch's post. She did say she does not mean to be rude. Unfortunately those of us with the best intentions are the ones taking offense because we "have the best intentions", its a board , we all have our opinions and I think we are all just getting a little " punchy" as the time draws near. Let's hope we all get what makes us happy tomorrow and thank you all for these heads up!!!

Smitch! Clearly, that is not your nature! I think e-mail/posts/threads are hard sometimes because you can't hear tone. I, and so many others, are grateful for your teachings! I booked POFQ months ago, then came on here and learned better. I did not know about all the things that you guys show us here. Now, I know better for the future! Personally, did not take offense and am grateful. Will switch my resort and hope for the best. Learning how not to be part of the problem next year!

I have learned a lot as well, but until today, was repeatedly told that POFQ was included in Sept FD, (late summer) and the fall promotion did not include it.
Disney is changing the way they roll the promotion this year, so no one would have known they were going to do it this way until it happened.

So let's clarify: IF you booked your reservations, say four-six months ago or longer, not knowing one way or another if there would be a promotion, great.
If you haven't booked, please wait until the promotion is announced so they might include more resorts in the promotion? Is that clear?

I've been lurking for a long time and recently started posting more. Smitch is definitely not cruel. Her level of helping on disboards is unreal. Way to go Smitch in bringing the help that you do to so many people.

First, thanks to all of you for the great and informative posts. I recently began to read the posts and have found a great deal of the info quite helpful. I did not know about free dining or when it would be offered etc. We have already booked for Sept of this yr and were excited to be going. Imagine our surprise to learn that FD will be offered and we may be able to take advantage of this. WOOHOO doesn't quite capture our feelings, tho we are sure you will get the drift, so to speak. We would not have known about FD without this site. I called our card services for Disney Visa just today and was told that free dining was coming and that an email would be sent sometime today indicating that it would begin tomorrow. Charles, the customer service agent was unwilling to offer me any further details, but that was enough for us. Thanks so very much to all of you....for all you do for others...

Sorry... total newbie here. I read somewhere back in the many pages that in order to book using the Visa promotion, one would have to call into Disney rather than booking online? Am I correct?

Yup, have to call. If it comes out tomorrow (which is the current expectation), you can call as early as 7AM. If you are flexible with resorts and room type, would not necessarily call that early as it will likely be a mad house!!

learned everything I know about FD from these 2 last year, especially Smitch. Made ADRs last April on the dates she recommended and they were spot on, did not have to change a single one when FD came out. I didn't even have a resort reservation when I made the ADRs.
