Question for all you seasoned free-diners... Do you ever have trouble finding a place to eat during the free dining promo? I get that some places need to be booked super far in advance. Can you walk up to most quick service restaurants? Do table service restaurants fill up months in advance? Is the Be Our Guest restaurant blacked out for the next forever? (I couldn't find any available time slots on any days we plan to be there). Thanks!

Not all TS book up months in advance, but the more popular ones do: BOG, CRT, 'Ohana, and other character meals at prime times.

I was able to get all the dining reservations I wanted - with the exception of BOG - for September 20-27. We always eat in the parks because it just seems like less running. Quick service can be crazy but is kind of like being at any fast food restaurant during a really busy time. Haven't been back to Disney since BOG opened but hoping to get there for quick service lunch if I don't luck in to a last minute dining reservation.

:sad2: very "un-Disneylike"! He must have bypassed the pixie dust machine that all WDW employees are supposed to walk through on their way into work.
Seriously, out of every 7 dwarves, there is one Grumpy!
Sorry you got him today.

Yea he was a poop. Kind of felt like I was calling the DMV, not Disney.

The issue with POR is it is the cheapest option for 5. So it is going to fill faster. As long as you go in with a back up resort all should be good. I know we have FD already but I'm thinking of upgrading to a pool preferred room and for some reason those were all booked last year. So if I'm going to do it I need to switch soon.

You can't have a pool preferred room. You can either have a preferred room or a pool view room and I which case could be anywhere on resort where as preferred guarantees you alligator bayou. :goodvibes

I've been following this thread for the past week, now I'm jumping in for the smiles and tears ;) As others have said, it's a bit more friendly over here, and that's comforting.

We're looking at 2 different weeks in September (depends on which week DH gets off work), and have ADRs made for both weeks, but I can't get the time for CP I want for the second week *cries*. Disney-people problems, LOL

Back to your FD anticipatory programming :)

That's the goal. Everyone respects everyone here.

I have been spending way too much time on these boards. I read "DMV" and thought to myself, i don't know that acronym...hmm maybe its Disney Magic Vacations or Disney Monthly Videos... I almost searched for the acronym list before it hit me.

I need a vacation.

What about the rooms with the murphy bed(or whatever its called I had a CM correct me on calling it a murphy bed) are they only in Alligator Bayou? and I don't remember what the CM called it, my brain wasn't worried about it at the time, so I have NO idea what she called it LOL

Yes, Alligator Bayou is the section of POR that has the Murphy beds and can sleep five.

Hi Everybody! Last year on the evening on May 9th, I got the email with pin code attached which allowed me to book FD through December. The code also extended FD a week early, allowing me to book FD starting August 25th even though the GP offer started Sept. 2. Just wondering if there's any insight as to whether we might get that option to start FD a week early again this year? Thanks!!

Hello, this is my first post from Argentina! Alligator Bayou has preferred and non-preferred rooms. I stayed at building 16, which is not preferred but is also near the food court.
If you are a group of 5 you will definitely stay at that section as it is the only one with the Murphy bed.
In a POR site I read it was advisable to send a fax requiring a certaing location in the hotel. I did so (4 times, in the week before I got there), and I got what I wanted. (I knew that out of the non preferred rooms the building 16 was the best, and it really was!).
Also hoping to be back there in October, same resort and building... and FDP if possible!!!

Thank you, that's what I thought, is Alligator Bayou considered preferred room?

The only place in POR-R with preferred rooms is the AB section, but the AB section isn't just preferred rooms. I hope that makes sense.

If I could have liked your post like I can on Facebook, I totally would have because I did the exact same thing!! :rotfl2::lmao:
