Free Dining 2014 Discussion

I think I read that to get free dining, you have to purchase two day tickets. Does your entire party have to do that?

We are a family of 4. My dd and I will do 2days at MK. However, my dh and ds plan to only do one day at MK with us and go to Legoland the other day.

Can I purchase two one-day tickets (for ds and Dh) and two two-day tickets (for dd and myself) and still get the free dining plan -assuming it is offered?

We will be staying 6 nights but plan on doing things other than Disney on our other days.

Thank you.

Everyone must have at least a 2 day ticket to get the deal.

What's the best phone number to use? I found 407-934-7639 in burnbaum guide.

I had the same question. I found a number for Resort Reservations on the Disney site but it's different than this number

Mods and Deluxes typically get the regular DDP, which is 1 TS credit, 1 QS credit and one snack per person per day (plus one resort refillable mug per person). You cannot get the QSDP, but you can use a TS credit for a QS meal anywhere on property. They will use up your QS credits first and then start pulling from your TS credits. You might be better of with a room discount depending on your party size/ages, and purchasing the QSDP.

please clarify: I can use a Table service for a Quick service?

Need some advice - we have been going back and forth all weekend because of the possibility of FD being offered. Our trip is booked at AoA in the standard rooms and now we have been thinking about changing to either the pirate rooms or the royal rooms with the free dining. We have 2 boys ages 22 months and 4, anyone have any good advice on where the best place to stay is?? We have never been to either

My sister stayed in a Pirate Room at CBR and she said that the building was really far away from the food court.

Everyone in the room must get a two day ticket and book three nights.

I truly appreciate all the info coming through here. Just the fact that FD isn't hopeless is encouraging - never thought we'd get it anyway, then changed our dates, we'll likely miss the dates this time around but hopeful for Fall offer.
As a family of 6 it saves us a lot, at moderate and even std deluxe rooms potentially!

Yes. It is a terrible use of a credit, but it is allowed. Just remember that in order to get free dining, you must pay full price for your resort. So if you're staying in a deluxe resort, your savings could potentially be much greater if there is a room discount available instead.

Is this an actual discount of some kind or just a different way of wording a full price package?

It is a pretty good discount for most people, especially larger parties with kids that are considered "Disney adults". The most recent S/P/D offers have been that everyone in your party pays child prices for dining and tickets regardless of age. In 2010, we did a kids S/P/D for free deal. We just had to buy dining and tickets for DH and me, plus the room.

Yes, a great discount. The one year we used it it came out to only about $100 more than FD would have been. I'd take that discount any day.

Thought I'd quit all the lurking and say hello. :wave2:

So much good information and everyone seems excited about tomorrow's announcement. It's catching!

We're planning on a trip this December and free dining would be awesome.

I know we probably won't hear anything that far out with tomorrow's announcement but I'm just excited to see free dining could be a possibility this year. So much talk of it being discontinued.

When our boys were younger we stayed at CBR. They loved, loved, loved the pool there! It has a small pirate ship like you see at the water parks, with slides and a bucket. And there are several "beaches" there to play in the sand, plus some of the kids meals in the food court come in a pail with a shovel. We loved CBR!

For boys I would say the pirate rooms. They will probably really like the pool there at CBR too.

Yep. Just looked. I have a feeling FD may not be showing up for a couple days. :( But hoping it will show up by morning.

Oh, this is so exciting! Good luck, everyone!! pixiedust:
I have my fingers crossed for November free dining, but I know that won't be released until probably some time in July (here's hoping!). Until then, we sit and wait (not so) patiently.popcorn::
