The dates that he leaked came from the South American Orlando Trip Advisor forum. I frequent there myself (with my trusty translator), and nothing has been buzzing over there for quite some time.
Joe-you are such a true Disney fanatic! I am amazed at the time and effort you out into your research. Every time DH thinks I'm bonkers over Disney, I tell him he hasn't seen you in action yet!

Forgive me if I'm repeating a question already answered. I was wondering how the free dining works as far as which level you can get in this offer. Do they offer all of them for free and you can choose which one you want (can't see them doing that)? Does it go by which resort level you're staying at? I'm interested in going sometime in September and staying in a value resort. I am hoping for the middle of the 3 dining plans for free. Are there certain rooms/resorts that are excluded from free dining? TIA for all your help!

Values will get the QSDP for free, while mods and deluxes will get the regular DDP for free. You can upgrade to the regular DDP at a value. Here is info on upgrading costs...

The LM rooms at AoA will definitely not be included. The suites at AoA and all of ASMo may or may not be included, but the other All Stars and Pop are always included, even their standard rooms.

This...

is why I asked. It hasn't even been around for 10 years, let alone 15. Unless there were free dining PINs for 5 years before it was offered to the public. Anyone know the answer to that?

It started in 2005 and we were there, not counting this fall we have done FD 15 trips with it:cool1::cool1: We have done FD in May, June, Sept, Oct, and Dec. I don't remember PINS starting for a couple of years after it started. I don't get them so can't say for sure but don't remember them offered before the start of FD.

Did anyone else stay at POP for FD and got the dining plan when you got appitizer, entree, and dessert, now that was some free eating:rotfl2:

Thanks for the info. :goodvibes

If anyone saw my post yesterday on the original forum, I am waiting for a call from a Disney Visa manager that is suppose to be contacting their Disney rep to see if there is a promo coming (loooong story) but IF she calls me back (not holding my breath:headache:) I will post it here so we can all be ready to go!!!

Welllll, I just got my call from the Disney Visa manager, her name was Dawn. She said that she had just gotten a call back from their Disney rep and wanted to get back in touch with me. She said that the Disney rep told her that there is nothing out there yet for FD but if FD is offered it should be released in the next couple of weeks with their September promo's. Really???? we already knew that :faint: She also couldn't tell me if the DV holders would get an early release:guilty: so no help at all and she sure didn't tell us anything that we didn't already know :sad2:

Sorry guys:flower3: I think Black is our best source of information:thumbsup2

Yeah, we received the app, entree and dessert our first time using free dining. It was way too much food.

Our first trip with the FD was 2007 (I think-maybe 2006) and we got the app, entree and desert and all tips were included!!!!

Just subscribed. This is soooo helpful. Hoping for FD at POFQ Oct 21-28. A girl can dream, can't she?

Yep - with appetizers and tips included (and the cost was what $40 approx?) the DDP was actually worthwhile even if you had to pay for it.

Not surprised. Even if they did know something, they could technically get in trouble if they spilled too much. They just as easily may not know anything, as many don't receive information until the last minute.

I KNOW! It was a total bargain the first time we used the plan (2006). We gladly paid for it without batting an eye - with 3 kids and 5/7 table service being character meals it was a no brainer! My memory puts it at about $35 per adult and $10 per child. There was no way you could feed a child, in the parks, for a full day and not spend more than $10. We would tip above most of the time, because we felt like we were stealing!! ;) times they have changed ..... I'll bet historical prices and inclusions are posted somewhere. I pulled out our 2006 Birnbaums recently and was shocked at how much hotel and ticket prices have risen since then. Still love spending my vacation dollars at Disney though!!!! I do worry though what it will cost my own children to bring their children on trips. It's a long way off though.....maybe by then we'll have saved enough to purchase a home in Golden Oak and the grand kids can come and stay and eat for FREE whenever they want!!! All they'll have to do is pay Nana (future me) in hugs and kisses!!!!! :) a girl can dream, right?

And some of them don't know until one of us tells them. :rotfl:

If the past is any indication, POFQ is not a FD resort. Sorry. I think it's because of the smaller number of rooms available in general due to it's size. You may want to think about moving the reservation to POR when FD is announced. I wish you luck that it will be offered, just not all that confident.

We are planning to go in October, but not sure what resort. We will be in Disney over the summer and will look at the bounce back offer as well.

Crunched all my numbers this morning. Our BB saves us ~$500 at POFQ. FD saves us $1280. Would not do the DDP if its not free so hard to calculate out what our total food cost would be OOP but FD comes out ahead.

Agreed. FD would save us over $1500 over our 10 night stay at POR Sept 9-19.

What are the chances that POR is not included this time around? Should there be any problem adding the FD discount to an existing reservation as long as I do it the same day the promo comes out?

Anxiously awaiting......:cool1:

No kidding, I think I teach the CM's a thing or two everytime I call. Last year when I added FD she told me it wasn't out yet, lucky for me and my DIS people I had the code and she punched it in and said oh wow, when did that happen? :rolleyes2

Hoping to book our trip to POR for November 15-22 and really hoping for FD, but getting nervous after reading that maybe POR will not be included?? I'm sure we will go no matter what, but it will save our party of 6 almost $2000! So if we book and POR isn't included, am I understanding right we could move our reservations to a different resort?? Not that I want to, I finally made a decision after much stressing...our first trip...I dunno if I can go thru that again. So when are they thinking they will announce it? I did get a Disney visa to, so hope that helps!
