Free Dining 2014 Discussion ~ Part 3

Hmm...those are my exact dates. I was able to get it this morning. Keep trying, I am sure more will open up!

I need 9/30-10/7, or at the shortest 9/30-10/6. Doing a split stay but want enough of the FD to cover the TS we want. Right now it's showing only 9/30-10/5 but I know with the DV offer it was showing through the 7th. Will keep checking.

I have a bounce back offer right now. If I switch to free dining, will they do it, or do I have to call the BB people and cancel that one and then put money down on a new reservation? Hope I am making sense and thanks for responses!

We had a BB and were able to modify it to a FD package by phone without cancelling through the BB office. I still have the same conf #, and didn't need to put down a new deposit.

However, I know some people posted that they waited on hold for hours only to be told that they needed to cancel their BB before they could rebook with FD. If this happens to you, simply ask to speak to a supervisor and see if your current reservation can be modified, because clearly, there is a way

What happened to the Dis Whisperers Group? I got an email saying it changed to secret and then I clicked on the link and it said I am no longer a member.

While I don't like to make assumptions, I am new here and that made me feel very unwelcome!

So right now I have POR with a preferred room, if I go to CBR I will only get a standard BUT free dining. The price is about the same I would just have to add the DDP to my POR reservation. Money makes sense go to CBR but I don't want the longer walks with a standard at CBR. Thoughts anyone...

I know requests aren't guaranteed, but consider going standard at CBR with a room request for a convenient building location. A few days before your trip, call the resort to confirm your request, and at check-in, if you're unhappy with the room assignment, ask if they have a room available at a more convenient location. In my situation, the savings from free dining to go from one moderate to another would be completely worth it.

I usually take a decent chunk of money over an few extra minutes of walking. BUT, only you can decide what the value of not walking far is for you. I personally haven't felt any walk I've had so far was unbearable and I don't do preferred rooms.

I don't know if you are talking about the page on a different site or the thread on here. The thread on here is Free dining anonymous (and a whole lot more). If you are talking about the other site I don't know I saw it on my wall yesterday but I don't actively use that site.

Hi! The Disney Whisperers was a group on facebook. I posted this here because I believe it was first mentioned in this thread (but maybe in part 1).

It suddenly disappeared though.

I apologize in advance that this post is in this thread but I didn't know where to put it. I know a lot of you read this thread and most of the posts in Dis Whisperers are about free dining.

One of the members of Disney Whisperers created an open Facebood group this morning called I Know Joe because Joe said he was closing the Whisperers group. Everyone could tell that members were getting deleted at a rapid pace this morning, but no one could tell whether or not he was making the group secret and keeping some members or if we was truly closing the group. I was removed from the group a short time ago, so can no longer see what is happening with the group.

CB rooms are garbage but u will save a lot of money on FD. call and see if u have a pin for FD u can do POR...i found out yesterday i have a pin, even though i wont use it because im staying at WL ...
