>> FREE DINING 2011 WATCH - Read Post # 1 BEFORE Posting

Just out of curosity I called too. CM laughed and said no OT. Friday is Shift Bid day....the day they get to put in for their new hours for the next few months!

Wonder if that TA in the blog was confused. I have never even heard of that agency before...maybe they are new. Unless we see a substantial leak on Touring plans or Mousesavers or someone else that usually has the scoop, I am betting on Shanghai.

just subbing to get the free dining news when it comes out :thumbsup2

Not for me unfortunately, we're planning on 2012 :sad1:, but a good friend is planning a trip for mid-August. She didn't decide until recently, so couldn't take advantage of the free dining deal that has already expired. I'm hoping for her sake that they offer it again!

If it is indeed FD then wouldn't they be giving Disney Visa card holders 2 days before it goes public? That would mean tomorrow we'd see something from Chase. I really do hope that it's FD again for October.....we're booked right now for FD in September but we really do enjoy October and November so much more.

Thank you Mr. BuzzKillington :O) haha!

What are the chances I will get a pin if I've already got reservations made?

Probably better than MY chances of getting a pin with NO reservation made. I've never gotten one and would be shocked to get one, reservation or no.

I have 5 different emails. I've made sure to sign up for different things over the years on different emails. Vacation DVD's, Maps, Reservations, the surveys they take at the parks.

I've gotten pin codes on 3 of the emails. They don't seem to notice that the emails are all for one person. So I could see making a reservation with one email and still getting a pin on a different email.

My wife got two, one of which we used. The funny thing is we have never been to WDW as a family before. We've never even planned a trip. Last time either of us was there was over 16 years ago. We plan a trip and within days a free dining PIN comes to a very old email my wife doesn't use anymore. It's so old we couldn't even figure out what zip code it was attached to. Then a few days ago she got another one on a different email.

It's really a strange coincidence that it came when it did but it allowed us to add a few days to our vacation using the money we saved on dining for a family of 6.

I don't know, I have friends who are going and they've been getting pins. One of them even got one she could use.

Having said that, there really seems to be no pattern for getting a pin. I've only gotten one and the blackout dates were exactly when I was going!

I've tried it all. Signed up under new email addresses. Set up trips, changed trips, ordered planning DVD's, said I was staying offisite. You name it. I've tried it. I'm on the official "NO PIN" list. Not once. Ever.

I wouldn't get too excited! I googled Disney announcement April 8 and this is what came up:

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-...e-park-partner-plan-april-8-announcement.html

looks like Shanghai is a go!

Realistically, when has Disney ever given a heads up about a discount? I think everyone is getting excited for no reason unless of course you are planning a trip to Shanghai!

June

Probably because they do it every year. The Travel agents always know before everyone else. Travel agents, Disney Visa holders, then General public. In that order.

So as long as there is hope, I am excited. :cool1:

I think I might be on it too. One time, my husband got one and I was so excited, but when I called about it, they told me I wasn't listed as being in his household so he had to call for me. Given that we've gone many times as a family, I was surprised at that one.

I think they know we're going anyway. It's like a boyfriend who just stops trying to impress you after a while. :)

How do Visa card holders know first? I'm a ciard holder :goodvibes
I've been a Disney Visa holder for years and really I always hear about Disney Visa holder discounts here on the Dis long before I ever get the email Chase Disney Visa. A lot of times the email will come days after it hits the Disboards.

I also see people saying that TA know before anyone else, and sometimes that isn't true either. I'm sure there are some TA that stay on top of Disney discounts, but I have read many, many posts from Disers who contact their TA's to add a FD Discount when it is released and the TAs don't know what they are talking about.

If you are waiting on any kind of FD discount news, this is the place to be.

This is true. I have had good luck with TAs who stay on top of things, but I come here first and I check here almost daily when I'm looking for a discount.

I don't get PINs and Chase has not yet been willing to give me a Disney Visa (recovering from nasty financially-devastating divorce...ugh!).

I guess I'm in the super-extra-exclusive NoMouseMagic4U club!!! :rotfl:

(Good thing I live in FL, have an AP, and found the Dis!!!)

I'm officially in both clubs! lol I have NEVER gotten a pin (I have four or five email addresses that I've gotten maps, vacations, etc through to no avail) and Chase hates me and my hubby. We've had a difficult few years (hubby became disabled and social security fought the issue), so Chase told us "when hell freezes over". :) It's all good though.....I swear the posters on this board should work for government intelligence the way they find out things.

I'm guessing the announcement will revolve around them starting to take reservations for the Art of Animation resort. I have no inside info or anything, just a gut feel. The message seems too "get ready" for any of their traditional discounts.

Not to burst any free dining bubbles, but there is a huge announcement/press event live from NYC from DCL on Wednesday, April 6th. I would imagine that this is what they are referring to. :thumbsup2

Cast members at the call center are being offered overtime on Friday. Could this mean another offer is coming out?

I think it will be because DCL will be opening for the new Galveston and New York Itineraries on Friday!
