We are also planning on staying at a mod. I emailed Disney asking about using the ts meals as cs. They replied that I can use my ts meals at any cs location on the dining plan. I do plan on taking the email with me just in case of problems. Of course that would only work with the free dining.

Now do you have to us the ts as cs or do you get 2 cs's for 1 ts?

With past free dining discounts, you would retain free dining for the whole stay if free dining was available on the day you checked in. So, in answer to your question, yes, you should get free dining for the whole stay, 8/8 to 8/18, if you book with a code ending 8/13; although, who knows if they'll change that in the future and make it more like the room only discount. Disclaimer: I haven't seen the current private PIN, so I don't know what the verbiage is on it.

No, you can not get 2 CS for 1 TS. There is much debate if they will even convert TS to CS. Some people have been able to do that, but others have been turned down. You will need to go to Concierge/Customer Service at your resort and ask them about converting the meal credits. Don't wait until you are billing out at a restaurant.

Since 2005 the policy with the Free Dining promo is that you can recieve the fd discount for up to 14 nights as long as you check-in by the end date on the promo.

3 night minimum, 14 night maximum

They are waiting for this summer because that's when the late fall and winter free dining discounts have been released in the past.

No confirmation, but any dates released for free dining will probably be for late summer and/or fall dates.

Does anyone want to surmise or offer me any little ray of hope that free dining will come out as a general public offer (the day I get a pin will be the day I also win the lotto) for June? Our dates are June 6-18, so we just missed the earlier offer.

I need this one, for my family of four that includes two "adult" kids, fd is our best discount.

I mean they are offering it for July on the current pin code, why not June?????

I see Disney Dino and I are on the same wish list at the same time posting!

I could kick myself for not booking FD when we were there in Nov.!My wife told me to book(had the flyer in the room),but I was so Disney saturated at the time(day 6 of 10),I just could'nt bring myself to do it! My wife and kids were killing me with the GO,GO,GO pace they were setting,and I figured if I made it out of there alive,we would'nt make our annual FD trip in 2011.Boy was I wrong!!!! I am,with everyone else,patiently waiting for fall FD! I,like Knox,think FD will be available again-Bookings must have been dismal for 2011 for Disney to roll out FD so early;couple that with the bad economy,Hurricane Season,Africa Hot Aug-Sept weather,and perrennial value season,and voila-some type of discount to fill the resorts,wether it is FD,% off rooms etc...makes sense fiscallyCome on FD!!!!!!

We were suppose to take the year off from Disney. That was Dh idea. We priced out beaches nad Atlantis. Then he said lets just go back to disney. He secretly loves it just won't say it.

We go for 10 days also so when we came back it was like lets do something else. Needless to say we should of booked fd before it expired but with Christmas and everything else going on. It sliped by so we are booked with the kids free and added the QSDP. I'm hoping for FD it would save me antother 350.00.

We had the exact same experience as you two. We got home on December 19, I think, from vacation last year, a 12 day visit, and my husband and I both agreed, no way, NO HOW would we go back in 2011. I was so burned out that even towards the end of December, we got an email about Disney Princess on Ice coming to our city, my husband wants to take the girls and I refused to go, said take the oldest by yourself if you want, and I'll stay home with the youngest. But then my oldest talked about Disney so much, and the other vacations we were thinking about were more expensive then we planned, so we said OK, let's do Disney again. Totally missed out on the FD, which normally I don't like the DDP. However, I recently priced out the QSDP, and getting that free would save us about another $200-300. Really hoping they reoffer it!

I am hoping they will start early this year. But I also know there concern will be to fill their summer dates.......I have the pin for summer...I just want it for the fall.

Same here! We have been to Disney the last 6 yrs in a row for 14 nights...the kids last year said they dont want to go again this year and we kinda felt the same..so didnt pay much attention to the promos. Well in Feb my ds said you know what I kinda want to go back to Disney and I felt the same way by then..... DH and I had just returned from a Disney Cruise and I was so bummed to be in Florida and not go to Disney.... so I was pleased as punch when the kid said that.... so of course ASAP I was on that computer doing my stuff....nothing for our time. Well I did eventually get free dining with a pin so am so very excited...... so am still keeping my fingers crossed for gp promo to come out for all that are hoping for it!!!!!

I got an email today and I was so excited opening it, hoping for a FD pin. Nope - it was the pin that I already booked with for % off the room. They finally got around to emailing it to me. No wonder I didn't know I had it since I'm just now getting the email. I mean did they want to cut it any closer? It expires the 28th!

Funny! I got one in my email this AM also. I was super excited thinking it was maybe a FD pin. Nope, it was the same pin I booked with last week. But this is the scond time I got this email!

I don't know, of course none of us do. I'm holding out hope for early August discounts still, even if it isn't free dining. I'll take 25% off room only at this point!

I was looking at historical release dates on MouseSavers (which of course, are no guarantee of upcoming discounts), but it appears as though summer discounts haven't been released until April, May, or later.

In 2008, there weren't any discounts released for June/July, but early August to late September was released at the end of June. That year, free dining (which started in late August), wasn't released until the beginning of April.

In 2009, June through August discounts were released in early May, with mid to late August through October released in late June.

In 2010, there WAS a discount for 6/04 to 8/14 released in February - but that seems to be unique to last year - it certainly wasn't consistent with the previous 2 years. However, summer discounts still came later too. Early May to mid-August was released at the end of March and a different offer was released for early May to early October at the end of April.

So, I suppose until June has come and gone with no discount released for my dates, I will keep hoping for some discount pixie dust!

I am really hoping for FD for fall Sept/Oct. too. I have 2 pin code emails that I am saving, 1 is for % off room rate which I can use if I booked for Sept. and the other is for FD which I have to book for Aug. and I really don't want to book Aug. I have really been bummed with Disney this year especially with them celebrating their 40TH this year. YES I know I should have booked the FD before it expired in Dec. but with my husbands job hours being decreased drastically and having to save every extra penny for Christmas I was not able to book then. Now his job hours have picked up again and I am really wanting FD. Come on Disney make us all happy!

Ugh....listen to this mess. I called Disney about 5 days ago and was told I had a FD pin good for stays between 7/1-8/13.

Last night I called again and was told my PIN was for a room discount (40% off Deluxe, 35% off Mod and Budget)...NOT free dining.

Today...just for fun...I call again and the CM tells me I don't have a PIN at all!!!! Huh??? So she puts me on hold for a few minutes...comes back and tells me that after further review I DO have a PIN for (drum roll please)...free dining for the July-August timeframe.

I've been told 3 completely different things over the course of 5 days. I love Disney but this is so frustrating. I guess I'll call back next week and see what offer they have for me then.
