After reading thru this thread I decided it couldn't hurt to call and ask.

We've never been and are planning on going in Sept for 8 days. I got our DVD in last week.

I called and she said right now I had the 40% off for hotels but that I also had a second pin that wasn't available yet. It's for FREE DINING!!! Made my day

She said just keep checking back and it'll come available.

So here's my questions.....

1: when should I call? First thing in the AM every day till it comes available I assume? lol.

2: Typically with the free dining you get Counter Service with the Value resorts and Plus with the moderate resorts right? What if I wanted to stay value and upgrade? Can I do that and does anyone know what the price (ballpark) would be?

3: and should I truly get excited??? Is there any chance it'll disappear before it becomes available?

I called last week when all of the free dining pin codes started to surface and was told that we had a code but wasn't available yet. The cm also stated that the rest of the codes are wrapping up at the end of this month so call after that but she wouldn't tell me what it was. I hope ours is free dining. That's the only way we can afford to go. I'm hoping for September/October. That's the 2 months we are available to go. Good luck!!

My resort discount pin expires on Feb.28 so I think it may be safe to say the next batch will start after that....congrats on getting a FD pin!

You can upgrade to the regular DP, you just have to pay the difference between the two plans.

Quick Dining plan costs $34.99 per guests 10 & over, $11.99 guests 3-9.

Regular Dining plan costs $45.99 or $47.99 (peak seasons) for guests 10 & over, $11.99 guests 3-9.

If you plan to stay at a Deluxe resort and if you have a small number of people (like just a couple), then a room only code usually saves you more than free dining because you end up paying rack rate for the room.

Ah! So you're comparing two different discount options. That makes more sense... for the life of me, I couldn't figure out how a discount could be WORSE than no discount at all. But I understand that you're comparing savings with a room discount vs. free dining.

I just called WDW to ask if I had any pin codes attached my name. She said yes I have two. The first was 35-40% off rooms. The second was for free park hopper/water park stuff added to the tickets. I don't care for the second and when I asked about the first, I was told they don't have it available for Pop Century which is where I wanted to stay.
I never knew the customer service reps could be so pushy. From asking how much the price of Pop Century, she then gave me the price of Caribbean Beach, never saying I could get the discount at any other Value resorts(which originally she said the offer was 35 at val and mod, and 40 at the others). She asked me how many times I was planning on eating 4 times, I kept telling her I have no idea how many times I wanted to eat and that's something I'll add on. That's when she obviously realized I wasn't going to be an easy sell, so she started giving me attitude. No matter how many times I asked her how much for "just the room" she kept adding tickets, insurance, dining...whatever else she could. I couldn't wait to get off the phone. Are they all like this?
If so, I'll skip calling, and settle for whatever specials they offer online.

No, they're definitely NOT all like this! Wow - sorry you got such a pushy CM. Maybe they have quotas to make and she was getting desperate? Call back - you'll get someone different! Oh, congrats on that PIN - that's the one I want but haven't gotten.

Right now what I'm pricing using my friends HUB discount equals what I get with FD, but Disney hasn't said if they'll give the good pricing for Sept on the DP to the HUB yet. I'd rather get FD from Disney so I can start making my dinner ressies.

I'll probably try to book Pop Century ~ pay the difference for Table Service and if we get enough cash between now and then try to upgrade. I want to be able to start booking my dinners on the 180th day which is right around the corner for me

I see a plan finally forming!! Now off to figure out where we'll dine!

I know we want to upgrade to a moderate but we pefer the QSDP. So we may just stay at POP. We do love it there. We added the QSDP to the kids free promo.

We sometimes get free coke...... My husband works for a Nascar team and of course...that ia one of the sponsors! lol...at the race shop, the vending machines are only 25 cents for a coke. Gotta love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I could kick myself for not booking FD when we were there in Nov.!My wife told me to book(had the flyer in the room),but I was so Disney saturated at the time(day 6 of 10),I just could'nt bring myself to do it! My wife and kids were killing me with the GO,GO,GO pace they were setting,and I figured if I made it out of there alive,we would'nt make our annual FD trip in 2011.Boy was I wrong!!!! I am,with everyone else,patiently waiting for fall FD! I,like Knox,think FD will be available again-Bookings must have been dismal for 2011 for Disney to roll out FD so early;couple that with the bad economy,Hurricane Season,Africa Hot Aug-Sept weather,and perrennial value season,and voila-some type of discount to fill the resorts,wether it is FD,% off rooms etc...makes sense fiscallyCome on FD!!!!!!

That is one of my son's team...when we were in Buffalo in Dec, the boys went to the jr game Canada vs Norway, three of my boys had Canadian Hockey Jersey's and Baseball caps and the Sabres fan has his new Buffalo stuff on that he had bought while we were shopping.... Are you Canadian or American? Outdoor game was great...thank god I was watching it in doors.. Ottawa and Toronto make for great playoffs..
