Free Dining 2008 Watch

Started dialing at 6:58 and was changing my reservations at 7:25 from the paid dining plan to free dining. Everything was wrapped up with no problems. Now all I got to do is have Southwest start showing flights later than 8/22

FYI: SW opens up till October April 17th.

Ok, so after 1 hr and 50 minutes, I got through the ta line and made my changes on 2 clients ressies. I then waited another 20 minutes on my other phone for the Grand Gathering line to change those. All in all, I was done by 8:30 Central time.

Scored 2 Free Dining Rooms at Beach club and a total of 5 rooms at the POFQ.

Glad that's over.

Searching all these posts is making me dizzy. I'm trying to locate a discussion where a portion of the trip (say first 3 days) falls outside of the FD time frame, and the balance is within. Staying 8/21-8/29, so I'm only covered with FD from 8/24-8/29, and 8/21-8/23 I can pay for the DDP or just pay as I go. CM suggested 8 day hopper and purchase a single day to get the FD, since the ressies had to be booked as 2 trips 8/21-8/24 and 8/24-8/29. Wanted a 9 day hopper all along. I just wasn't sure why I couldn't just be issued a 9 day hopper from the beginning where the incremental cost is just a few bucks per extra day.

What are some of the other options?

We tried for POFQ too. I got through immediately this morning, phone didn't even ring! But we had to take PORS. So did my mom and sister..

I am wondering if maybe we can call back later on (couple weeks) and try to get it switched??

Anyway we are HAPPY to be saving over $1000 with free dining! Hopefully I can get excited about Riverside..

How the heck did you get a family suite? Did you have it reserved already and just add the dining? If so, how long ago did you reserve?

Just got email from my TA ... she has been on the phone for 4.5 hours and said that she was told the system was going down for a few hours.

But ... she did mine first!!!!

We are booked for our mom & dad only long weeked from Sept. 12 - 16 at AKL Savannah View Uzima Savannah requested (they only had rooms with bunk beds available if anyone else is looking for there) w/ 5 day PH for only $1996.10!!!

Can't wait..will anyone else be there??

I am almost in tears.... I have been trying to get my AAA TA for over 3 hours and I keep getting told she is with someone, she gets one more hour and I am calling Disney myself and doing it.....its actually not my TA she is on vacation this week and this lady is supposed to be helping me, but she is not and I am so furious right now, I cannot even concentrate on my work......

Here is what I would do in your situation. I would go 8/21-8/24 with the 9 day ticket and then 8/24-8/29 on 1 day base tickets and then save them to upgrade a ticket in the future. They cost $76.77 each which could save a chunk on a future trip that was not booked with tickets. Either way if you decide to just use the one day pass just think of it as paying that $76.77 per person to eat for 5 days and then it doesn't seem like such a waste. Do you have AAA? If so you could probably save about $50 if you used your AAA card for a room only reservation.
