If you book with AAA and free dining comes out do you still get the AAA rates or does it still go up to rack rate? I've done an AAA trip before, just never during FD.

Unfortunately you can't stack discounts. You have to pick either the AAA discount or the Free Dining discount. You can't get both.

If Disney Visa cardholders get promos slightly before the general public, wouldnt it make sense that the next GP deal would be the kids eat and play?

That offer is only good for stays thru Aug 14th also. There are no deals out there for Aug15th and on.

new and different discounts. Wouldn't that mean that Free Dining wouldn't be offered, seeing as has been for the past oh 4 years or so? :confused3

Not necessarily. New and different doesn't mean they're doing away with every other type of discount they've offered in the past. It can simply mean "in addition to" or that promos that have been offered in the past may slightly vary now (such as having a tiered version of FD).

You're speculating as much as we are. ;)

It's possible FD won't be offered this year...it's possible it will be. Nothing is confirmed yet. CMs and TAs have been giving contradicting statements on it, as they do every year. Still, there is bound to be some offer during that time frame as they want to bring in guests for the value season.

Am I? Time will tell. :thumbsup2
Yes, you are. Unless you're the one who controls what discount is going out and when (which I seriously doubt), you aren't saying anything different than what other people are being told and have been told in previous years when FD WAS offered. So far you haven't explained why guests this year are being told it WILL be offered, you're only focusing on the ones who have been told it wouldn't be. It's the same merry-go-round every year, and every year there's always at least one person who posts as if they are in the know and swear it won't be offered.

I'm not saying it WILL be offered. I said it's possible that it would or wouldn't be. I'm going to wait on official confirmation before I try to convince others it's a definite either way. I don't think it's that hard to say "this is what I think will happen, but I could be wrong." Personally I think FD will still be offered, even at a tiered level. But I could be wrong. I'm not the one who controls what promos go out.

I spoke with a AAA representative today and she said that they currently have a discount to offer Free QSDP to all Moderates and Deluxe right now with a PIN code to anyone who calls and asks for it. She said that that is all that they have been told or given at this time. So, we all might be waiting for something for nothing. Sorry to be the bearer of news that isn't so good.

It's not just free dining, it happens with everything even back to pre-dining plan when everyone was holding their breath for AP rates because it was better to do room onlies so lots of people got 1 AP for the discounts. It's a cycle.

Someone starts a code watch thread months before any code release would be expected. Lots of people subscribing and posting "me too! I want a discount!" Time goes by and it gets closer and the excitement builds. The closer it gets, the more the panic begins to set in. Lots of doom and gloom...there are too many people booking non-discounted rooms and they are ruining it for the rest of us! Disney doesn't care about us, their most loyal guests of all! No discounts! Panic and fear! Threats to cancel! I'll never go to Disney again! I'm so offended, I'm writing a letter!

Then about a week after panic ensues the discount is released and everyone says they knew it all along.

Rinse and repeat for each new discount release. ;)

You are SOOOO right!

I have a AAA Ta and have asked several times, so if that is true, she is holding out on me. :lmao:

If you want I'll gladly give you her name and number by a PM, I'm just saying what she told me this morning. I can't guarantee her info is acccurate though, but she's never steered me wrong before.

It's the same merry-go-round every year, and every year there's always at least one person who posts as if they are in the know and swear it won't be offered.

Ok then, that person this year is me. Difference being that this year I'll be right. But again, time will tell. I will bookmark this page for when that time comes. ;)

Will I get an apology for you 'thinking I'm just being contradictive'? If so, I'm totally ok with that apology being monetary value. :rotfl:

Nah, I might say you were right, but no apology. Because I think you are just guessing like the rest of us. I did ask a couple times if you are in the know. If you are, you could have said yes, without giving us any details. ;)

I will get back to you on that. I just tried calling my TA again, but she is out of the office until tomorrow. If she tells me the same thing again, I may take you up on the offer. I trust my TA, maybe it wasn't offered to all AAA TAs??

 Same thing I read every year (and as someone pointed out, every discount)...just a new person. We all have a 50/50 chance on this. Even if you're a CM, that doesn't guarantee any "inside knowledge" until something is confirmed because many CMs have been swearing they really know whether positive or negative. If it's not offered or if it is, all one can really say is "my 50% chance won." So good luck to you! :thumbsup2

Sorry, I missed that. Yes. :cool2:
If you're supposedly in the know, can you explain why others who are also supposedly in the know say the exact opposite of you? I'd really like to know why SO MUCH contradicting info is being given all by people who claim to be in the know.
