Free Dining '10 Update: Disney Visa FD Released (See pages 1 & 57+ for details)

You guys kill me. I was simply trying to shed some light on what's going on in hopes of bracing everyone who is expecting a deal that will never come. Yet I get accused of 'guessing', having a '50/50 chance', being a 'CM/TA that doesn't know anything' and (my personal favourite) being told to go back under the rock I crawled out from.

I wasn't "pretending" to have insider info, but clearly there is no point in saying that I do have inside info anyhow, because you still don't believe me. Geesh, for all you guys know I'm the big cheese himself.

But no worries, as I assure you that I won't be spending anymore time on your precious "we are all hoping for free dining, so anybody trying to tell us it's not coming are not welcome" thread.

Anyone else thinking that maybe they're just waiting until after Easter? Or am I being naive?

Our girl trip is booked and solid, free dining of any kind would be a perk (but I bet our dates will be outside of the first offer if they go traditionally), but with the summer one being release now, maybe they're waiting until after the holiday to prepare for the onslaught? Our dates to make ADRs for Oct 1 (first date of the Food and Wine Festival) is Sunday (Easter)....

I was thinking the same thing. With the switchboard being busy during the holiday weekend, maybe they are going to wait until after Easter when things calm down some. I'm sure there will be discounts and all of this speculation will become a blur when the release happens.

First off he says he doesn't know when they will start to scale back...given the discounts for the summer and the extra discount again and allowing you to book until Aug14th...leads me to believe whatever they were planning isn't working. He doesn't even now what they will get rid of...my guess is that they were planning on getting rid of the extra deals they put up through out the year.

I spoke with a AAA representative today and she said that they currently have a discount to offer Free QSDP to all Moderates and Deluxe right now with a PIN code to anyone who calls and asks for it. She said that that is all that they have been told or given at this time. So, we all might be waiting for something for nothing. Sorry to be the bearer of news that isn't so good.

That is not true...I just called the other day to see if any pin codes were attached to my name and while I had none my DM did(25%off room). Quite honestly AAA TA's don't know too much about Disney promos...I had to tell the one I used a few years back about thee codes. TA's are not in the know because obviously they can't keep there mouths shut!
I am not saying that some get the heads up but I highly doubt AAA does considering they offer a discount to their members. I think that maybe the ones who check the Disney TA site every morning at 7am are the ones who know about the deals first!

And I CAN back that up... I have grocery receipts to prove that I buy cookies. I have high blood sugar, and poor cholesterol, both of which should indicate that I eat cookies. And the crumbs in my bed have been sent of to forensics, and we are waiting on the results. I believe all signs will point to Chocolate Chip!

That includes me- take a deep breath. Looking at Mousesavers and their history of discount releases, here are the dates for DV FD since 2006:
2006: start booking on April 1
2007: start booking on April 9
2008: start booking on April 7
2009: start booking on March 26 (that is a Thursday, right?)

So, as long as I read it right, the offer in previous years has not come out in March except for last year. So....let's not panic until mid-April. My guess is next Monday or Thursday, but maybe even Monday the 12th.

So, there you have it...If it is a pattern(sorry DD's math words) maybe next Monday???? It is useless to try and perdict what Disney will do...let's have a PARTY while we wait...

I just read through all of this and there are definitely different opinions. The nice thing is that we CAN have a difference of opinion - it's what makes us unique. I do find it a little sad that when someone has an opinion different then the majority, that some get harsh in the their responses - almost child-like (I won't be your friend anymore....)

Ok - maybe some go about it the wrong way - but reading through the comments, the majority of the people were clearly speculating on what is in store - everyone having different answers from different resources. It's like a big 'my friend said' game. It reminds me of the game I used to play as a kid - broken telephone - if anyone has ever played it, you know the starting story is NEVER the same as the ending story.

The one thing I did notice is that the one person making very confident claims never said 'my friend said', merely confidently stating that he/she knew that there was no FD in the near future. I don't think it was a matter of sharing information. It seemed to me the information 'shared' was that there is no FD.

Not trying to be combative at all - just my observation.
