Free Dining '10 Update: Disney Visa FD Released (See pages 1 & 57+ for details)

Why every time someone is waiting on something from an announcement by WDW the trolls crawl out from under the rocks that they live under?! If we want to hope, pray and speculate for something, then it should no skin off your back when there is a discussion. But every time, someone has to come on the said thread and just squash everyones hopes and what exactly is your payoff? Why do it? Just to rile everyone up? Well job well done, so now you can go back to your rock!

According to this rather well known Disney TA, and I quote "We have heard that Disney will be offering "some form" of free Dining for late August and September 2010." Sounds pretty difinitive to me...

While I agree, everyone is entitled to an opinion, this one seems to be getting some hair up on a bunch of people on here. I'm just saying. But if I offend, I'll delete.......no problem.

I am not offended... I just don't think it's right to question someones credibility because their opinion is different than yours.

I am also hoping there will be Free Dining... but if there isn't, boy won't we all be blue in the face.

I am beginning to think it may be just the QSDP. My TA hinted around to something like that. But honestly, I don't think the TA's really know any earlier then the rest of us.

I won't be...because I've been saying there's a possibility it won't be offered. I don't pretend to have insider info...because the reality is that even CMs and TAs obviously don't really have it as they've been giving contradicting statements on it. Shoot, some CMs and TAs aren't even aware of promos that ARE confirmed. I don't think it's a matter of differing opinion so much as we've heard all of this before, so it's nothing new. It's just a wait and see...even for those who claim to know.

You guys kill me. I was simply trying to shed some light on what's going on in hopes of bracing everyone who is expecting a deal that will never come. Yet I get accused of 'guessing', having a '50/50 chance', being a 'CM/TA that doesn't know anything' and (my personal favourite) being told to go back under the rock I crawled out from.

I wasn't "pretending" to have insider info, but clearly there is no point in saying that I do have inside info anyhow, because you still don't believe me. Geesh, for all you guys know I'm the big cheese himself.

But no worries, as I assure you that I won't be spending anymore time on your precious "we are all hoping for free dining, so anybody trying to tell us it's not coming are not welcome" thread.

FD would be wonderful... but if a discount should come out that would save me more... I am in favor of that... gonna get the DP either way. I just want to save some $$$ so I can afford to actually get there!!

That includes me- take a deep breath. Looking at Mousesavers and their history of discount releases, here are the dates for DV FD since 2006:
2006: start booking on April 1
2007: start booking on April 9
2008: start booking on April 7
2009: start booking on March 26 (that is a Thursday, right?)

So, as long as I read it right, the offer in previous years has not come out in March except for last year. So....let's not panic until mid-April. My guess is next Monday or Thursday, but maybe even Monday the 12th.

I spoke with a AAA representative today and she said that they currently have a discount to offer Free QSDP to all Moderates and Deluxe right now with a PIN code to anyone who calls and asks for it. She said that that is all that they have been told or given at this time. So, we all might be waiting for something for nothing. Sorry to be the bearer of news that isn't so good.

Out of curiousity - Would that be for "anyone who calls and asks for it"?

Or "anyone who calls and asks for it" but books with them as well?

Yep, we know about that announcement and it's been mentioned here. Thing is that we don't know exactly when it'll happen or what kinds of scale backs/changes will be happening (and even Iger acknowledged in that statement that "we don’t know when we will essentially be able to turn it off.”). I still believe it's unlikely they wouldn't offer some kind of incentive to come during prime hurricane season when they are offering incentives to come during the summer when they have no problems with guest attendance. Free dining? I don't know for sure. But it's likely to be something.

I am going either way.....a discount will be offered.

I spoke to my friend that works at "the world", she said that the parks have not been when they are used to(with people). I would assume that they are going to do what they know will attract people.

Everyone is entitled to there own opinion. I am just not going to listen to negativity. I work for the FBI so, I also get to hear it and see it daily. So, I don't care who fivebyfive is and what she says, it won't damper my spirits.

Go FD, room discounts, etc. etc. I'll take whatever disney gives. I'll still be waiting like the rest of you. Woohoo!!!
