Free DDP Booking SUCCESS!!? - Post 'Em Here!

Just got Pop standard room 8 nights (8/26-9/3) w/ 1 day base tickets: $886.30.

Was only on hold for about 15 minutes. Strange, because I called three times, and the first two times I got a recording that said, "all circuits are busy, please try your call again."

Got directly through on 800 number....no holding at all and got what I wanted!!

Yaaayyyyy, I let my AAA travel agent do the work. Though I did lose my AAA discount, the free dining was a MUCH better deal. So we'll be at Pop Century Sept 16-21 (2 adults, 9 child) with free dining and 1 day base ticket for a grand total of $680.83. WOW!!!!!:yay: :cool1: :yay:

I sooooo hope it's true that you can simply modify the exsisting ressie. It sure does seem like alot of trouble to cancel and then try to rebook. With the way ressies are flying off the shelf it would stand to reason that the room you cancel could be whisked away while trying to reserve another !?!?! :(

They just switched my old deposit to the new ressie, no problem at all. You have to have $200 on Disney Visa, but there was no cancelling, rebooking or refunding...simple as pie!

BTW, seems as if a lot of us are planning on MNSSHP on 9/28 (ME TOO!!!) Maybe we could have a DIS meet before the party or something? Just an idea with so many people at so many different resorts. Thoughts??:confused3

I am a disney visa holder. When I go on the rewards site -:confused3 Nothing about free dining. I can't use it anyway - we are going the first of August. But I just wonder what else I'm missing out on? The only two offers I see are 25% of Disney Online Store and a Steamboat Willie phone. Am I looking in the wrong place? Thanks for your help!!!

:dance3:

I had already had reservations and they just added the free dining to it, I also added one more day and one more day of a hopper pass. They did however have to refund my deposit that I put on my bank of america card and then recharge the deposit on my Disney visa. I just ended up putting the whole thing on my Disney visa so I don't have to be bothered with it. So no they didn't cancel my reservation and make a new one they just adjusted it :)

We just had to modify or ressie and have the same confirmation number. Did not have to cancel and rebook. I'm not sure if it was because they had std rooms available at WL under free dining, or if they are just applying the code this time around.

I guess all of those people that said it was dumb to book a ressie hoping to apply free dining before it actually came out were wrong.;)

So, I wanted to ask if any of you used someone else's card to make your reservation. A card of a non-family member (so last name is different)? What did they ask you, were there any issues with making that reservation? Did you have the cardholder call, or did you call with their information? I want to be prepared when I call, a friend has graciously offered her card so I can make my plans. Is CRO going to have an issue if I call with her infomation?

Thanks for any insights you can offer!

I used my Disney Visa to book for my brother and his family and there was some issues. Because we are also booking 2 other trips, the supervisor gave it to us, but there was quite a bit of work/hastle to get it. Because I am going to be in Disney during the same time period this also helped. All you can do is try and ask for a supervisor to check if you can't get reservation. I think its okay as long as you pay in full with Disney Visa. Good luck!

I just got Pop Century (standard) for Sept. 1 - 6, 3 adults and 1 junior, 1 day base tickets: $809 something - exactly what I had priced out on Disney's website. I waited to book until today.

I called at 11:06 and was only on hold for 17 minutes. Was a little worried about getting POP on Sept. 1 as that seems to be a popular date, but no problems at all! :woohoo:

Didn't get our first choice of Wilderness Lodge standard or Contemporary standard.

Booked Polynesian Garden View 9/18 for 5 nights, 2 rooms, 4 adults, 1 child, 1 infant, 1 day base pass, free dining for $4052.

There was nothing at the Wilderness Lodge (except for concierge) for 9/15, 9/18, or 9/22. Other dates/resorts/prices I checked:
9/15-9/23 All Star Movies Preferred $2051
9/22-9/29 Contemporary Garden View $5155

Checked some villas, 2BRs were available at OKW for some of our dates. Other villas only had studios.

Haven't really figured out what we're going to do, we may end up canceling and trying to use points if available

On hold about 30 min. Booked CSR Sep 19-25. I ca't wait will have to take in MNSSHP as well.

I acutally booked yesterday and just called in and added the plan for free. I booked my meals yesterday as well.

Okay, I haven't read through all the pages of this thread yet (it's been a busy morning) so I apologize if anyone's asked this before.

I just booked 9/21-9/30 in Savannah view at the AKL. This was not my first choice because it's about $500 more than I wanted to spend on my trip. No problem with the room itself, just fearing having to pay everything off. :scared: The CM I talked to said there were no standard rooms allowed on the free DP for AKL and WL, which I'd rather have. I had her quote me some other hotel rooms, but I wasn't really interested. What, if any, are the chances for standard rooms opening Thursday or later? Alternatively, if I have to change to a moderate resort to save money, should I do this before Thursday?

AIN'T THAT THE TRUTH:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 !!!!
No, it isn't the truth. If your category room and resort were not in inventory for the code discount you would not have been able to modify your reservation. For example, there are reports of no Lagoon View rooms at Poly. Those who already have reservations for that type of room were not able to get free dining, not unless they wanted to change to Standard View. KWIM? Having already booked it prior to release of the code gave them no advantage whatsoever. ;)

This is crazy but I don't have my physical Visa card I transferred balances last year and cut the card. But I get the bills of course . Do I need other info. or should I call Visa. I know sometimes they want the exp. date which doesn't seem to be on my bill or that 3 code thingie. I used my master card/debit for everything.

The code is ZHQ , but you may not need it. The CM I spoke with said she already had the code handy. :cutie:

I don't know, I got standard at the WL when I transferred from code to DDP and I keep reading that there are no standard rooms available by other members. Could be I got the only standard view at WL OR could be they just transferred the discount from the 40% code to DDP :confused3 . I'm just glad it worked and I'm hoping it works for EVERYONE.

Really, isn't it more fun if everyone gets to play too?

Do you think there is any possibility that free dining will be extended? We are going 9-30 to 10-7? We got it 2 years ago at the beggining of Oct and would love it again! :mickeyjum

They did ask me for the exp. date and the 3 digit code on the back.

Okay. I feel like I'm going to pass out, cry, or go through the roof for joy all at once!!!

We had booked 8 nights, room only discount AAA for Poly Garden View.

I didn't call at 7 am thinking there would never be Poly available.

I finally caved about 11:45 and my curiosity got the best of me.

I was on hold only 10 minutes.

I got it!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got Poly, Garden View, 8 nights for 3 adults 1 child age 11 (so she's full price) with 9 day MYW base tickets (no hoppers, etc) and the FREE DINING!!!!

I kept thinking it had to be too good to be true LOL so I called back and cracked the other CM up, asking her to just please read me the ressie again to be sure it was right. It was!!! I'll be on pins and needles till I get my information snail mail though she said that they'd send it that way and I will feel like I'm in free-fall until I get it.

We've never used a package before let alone one with dining free or otherwise, so please reassure me Dis-ers...this is a VERY good thing right???:wizard:

Thanks!
Nervous Laren LOL
