Free cake to celebrate your birthday

I was told that the Garden Grill will give you a free birthday cake if you mention that you are celebrating your birthday that day. Are there any restaurants that will give you a free cake if you mention the birthday when making your ADRs? I'm pretty sure the cake will be small and simple, but my DS will be celebrating his first birthday during our next visit and having the cake during one of our TS meals would be great.

scifi dine in lunch gave a sundae
princess storybook lunch gave a cookie
crystal palace gave a cupcake
crt dinner gave a chocolate mini-cake type thing
1900 park fare breakfast gave a cupcake

but nothing is guaranteed

You could also pre-order a custom birthday cake to be delivered during dinner.

And don't forget to mention the birthday on all your ADR's.

My dd has always been given a huge cupcake, with a lit candle, on her birthday in WDW. I have had it noted on our ADR's, and again mentioned it at the podium when checking in.
If you want a cake, then you will be best off if you order it ahead of time. I believe they do have some pretty generic, small cakes that you can purchase right at the podium to be brought out after dinner. But, I would order one ahead of time. I ordered a beautiful cake throught the GF Bakery for our lunch at the GF Cafe. It was expensive, but it was for dd's 13th birthday, so well worth it.

You may get something for free, and it might be a cookie or cupcake instead of a cake. I ordered a cake at Garden Grill to make sure that my ds would have a cake on his birthday. I didn't want to take a chance and count on a freebie and wonder if they will do anything special after the meal.

Here is a good link about cakes you can order if you are interested in ordering a cake. At the Garden Grill, the 6 inch cake is the only cake available. But at other places there are a variety of customized cakes you can get.

We have only received cupcakes at our meals. There have been a couple of times that we didn't get anything so be aware it does vary at times.

We received cupcakes at CP and 50's PT. We also ordered a cake at LTT which was good.

Thanks everyone. I think I will order a cake instead of shooting for the freebie. It will be my birthday and my DS (celebrating his 1st bday). I heard Chef Mickey's does a great job for the little ones!
