Free admission on your birthday intro + FAQ + gift card T&C

I don't think I would go on my birthday. My bithday is Dec. 28th. When I went with my cousin back in the 80's on Dec 26th the crowd was shoulder to shoulder most of the day. As I slide into my 40th year that many people is too close for comfort. No thanks, I'll stay home and eat my Costco cake and relax.

So anyone know for certain? regarding my previous post? TIA :)

The biggest "hitch" in the fine print is for those going for more than 1 day.

You must pay for the ticket on your birthday for the free day. So... if you get a 3 day ticket and the LAST day is your birthday, you must pay for a 3 day ticket.

Disney Dreams, I believe I understand what you have figured out, however, I want to make sure that I do, so, then what it comes down to, is if I have a 2 day p/h, and the third day is my b/d, then I have to pay for that day anyway? how is it free then? man, I am starting to get a headache.
Also, I have been reading the fine print, and I believe that I am correct, when I state, there goes my Marcelines Confectionery shopping idea, with the gift card, if I have a 3 day p/h, to begin with.

I'm not getting that *at all*. Why would you have to pay for a day, if you want the pass, just b/c it's the end of your trip?

Just get one day less than you would get, and go to the booths on your b'day and get your free pass.

Or get a ticket that covers it all, and get your Birthday Fun Card.

Alas Marceline's is out, b/c food and beverage aren't included. And...

The Birthday Fun Card is also not accepted at Disneyland® Resort Operating Participant locations or any other locations or kiosks that are not owned and operated by the owners of the Disneyland® Resort, including but not limited to, Midway Games, Names Unraveled, Jewel of Orleans, Silhouette Studio, Portrait Artists, Parasol Cart, Heraldry Shop, Crystal Shops (Crystal Arts & Crystal d'Orleans), Paradise Pier Face Painting, Airbrush Tattoos, Rubio Portrait Artist or at Downtown Disney® District locations except World of Disney® Store, Marceline's Confectionery, and the Downtown Disney® District Pin Cart. The Birthday Fun Card is also not accepted at Disneyland® Resort outdoor vending carts.

The sentence runs on way too long, but if it's written correctly, you can use the card at Marceline's.

If you already have a 3-day park hopper, then you have a choice of three things you CAN get, including a Fun Card (valued at $69).

I'd rather get the 3-day hopper & the Fun Card instead of getting a 1-day/1-park ticket. I haven't done the math yet, but I think one would get a better value, dollar wise.

Since there are so many questions about the gift card, terms & conditions have been added to the first post of this thread.

...What's Columbus Day weekend's Monday like? Memorial Day weekend's Monday wasn't bad this year (DS's b'day)...
Columbus Day is not that big of a day on the West coast. Back east it's pretty big.

It is a Federal holiday, but in the state of California, some schools close while others don't. So... it's not like Labor Day, but there are more people than an average day.

That said, enter once again a favorite topic of this board... Gay Days. Last year, Gay Days Weekend was Columbus Day weekend so the Park was crowded.

Not sure when Gay Days are in 2009. That could be your crowd-bringer if it hits Columbus Day again.

I agree with how Bumbershoot explained this. Just don't buy a 3-day pass. :)

ok after reading all that i have to ask dose any one know if its happening in wdw to?

Does anyone know how long it takes to receive an email confirmation from DL's site, for having registered for the birthday promotion? for I just looked at my in box and bulk folder, and nothing! :( normally, anything like that is really quite fast in being received.

It's all on the site, but some folks are having a hard time finding it, so I've added even more information to the first post.

If you read the FAQs on the promotion, everything is there.

Here's your answer...

"Print the reminder email with its confirmation message that you will receive 2 weeks prior to your birthday to redeem free admission on your birthday in 2009."

Is that what the problem has always been? Drat, if only my mom and dad hadn't moved to San Francisco when they left home and married, if only they had stayed where my mom grew up in Upstate NY! :upsidedow

Woohoo, I could add a smilie and I can click on the buttons above the Reply window, which means my computer solved its issues, whatever they were! Wow, I have a self-healing computer? Dude, someone call Apple, it's a miracle!:cheer2:
