Free 1 day water park on arrival

I take it you’ve seen actual reports from people who experienced a closed water park on their check-in day and asked Disney if they were offering alternatives? Or are you just parroting the terms and conditions?
Reports of just so are here to read.

We arrive March 10 landing at 7:30 and if weather is ok plan to use it. Otherwise we will make a park reservation and go to a park. I’m old and arthritic so climbing all the steps might not be fun but even spending a couple of hours will be great for us. Wondering which park will be open
We also arrive on the 10th at 11;00 however we are booked at the swan through Marriott so no waterpark for that part of our trip, but we are doing a split stay and moving to CSR on the 14th so we get to go then!

Have fun! Let’s hope for great weather for us then!

I couldn't find this in the Terms and Conditions - do we have to check in before we can use the perk? I like to check in at the hotel vs using the online check in, but it'd be kind of nice to be able to go directly to the waterpark before going to the actual hotel.

If you've done online check in, you do not have to go to your resort first. You can go directly to the waterpark.

I would love to know the % of guests that can/will utilize this.
My guess is 15%
I agree and think it might actually be high. I know when we plan for waterparks during our trip, because it comes with just as many days as the reg. park tix, we ALWAYS have extra water park days we don't use, so if we're going to the waterparks and want more than a "hopeful" (depending on travel) half day; it's not going to do anything. I mean as a "perk" it's more than nothing, but barely in our opinion. Happy for those excited to take advantage of it though.

Blizzard Beach is closed today (Wednesday) due to low temperatures and is also scheduled to be closed thru Thursday.

I think we will definitely take advantage of it. We are doing a split stay. Our flight arrives at 8:30 am on our first day at the GF and after 5 days we are transferring to YC so we can send our luggage ahead and just go straight to the water park.

I'm wondering if they will keep both waterparks open in the summer since they are offering this perk as an incentive.

They could start by offering more bus transportation to the water parks rather than needing to transfer.

Wonder if it will open Friday with temps expected to rise? That’s when I am thinking of going.

Nothing official but Friday still looks iffy and Saturday will again have lower temperatures than Friday. Stay tuned.

I'm surprised to hear of people choosing to book an extra earlier night just to take advantage of this. Paying for entrance to a WP, especially for guests who already have PH tickets would be far more economical than booking an extra night at a Disney resort.
The Mouse just might know what he’s doing with this promo…

Just spoke to a Disney rep, he shared beginning Jan 1 Disney will offer I day at one of their water parks free to guests. ..the catch is it's only good on day of arrival.
people will have to add an extra day to their trip and arrive a day early. That way they can use on the 1st day of trip. Meaning more money for disney if booking their hotels.

We are checking in mid February and don't have plans to visit the water park that day(one reason being we rarely visit the water parks and if we do, it's with our son, who is not joining us on this trip, and two - we are from NY and in February anything is warmer than what we have going on here but we don't love the waterslides THAT much!)...long story short - I just got an email today from Disney Destinations regarding a survey about our upcoming trip. There were several questions relating to the water parks on arrival day...if we knew it was included, if we would take advantage of the "perk" and why or why not, along with a few others I can't recall. Thought that was very interesting.
