We also have to run across the river to the Bass Pro Shop to pick up a new tent for our beach camping trip. We are way too tight in our 4 person, even though 2 of the persons are small.:lmao: We are getting the Columbia Cougar Flats 2-room tent and I have $125 in gift cards for the Bass Pro Shop. To order through the mail, I would have to pay about $25 shipping!:scared1:

We've been thinking of camping! We never did it before, but with six of us we figure it's a less expensive way to take a vacation. We love cruising.. but that's at least a $5,000 a pop endeavor! :rotfl: We're hoping to try it out this fall, at Fort DeSoto, a state park in St. Petersburg, FL - about an hour and a half from us. Camping on the beach just sounds like so much fun :) Have you done it before? Got any tips for us?

I feel like Marna Jr!!! (OK- well, I am almost certain I am older than her- but you will know what I mean.....)

Today- I had some tomatoes that I did not want to go bad so I made my roasted tomato sauce.

I had some leftover chicken from last night too and I also made a red sauce with chicken.

I picked some of my basil to go on top of both dishes.

I had some over ripe bananas and made banana bread which is in the oven as we speak.

and lastly- MIL gave us some cucumbers and I made a cucumber and onion salad.

See- Marna Jr! You are an inspiration!

OH wait- and in between all of that- I planted a bunch of annuals that my garden center gave me last week- the girl there said her boss wanted her to throw them all away! She did not have the heart to do that so she gave me 3 trays of annuals!:worship:

Now! I will not expect to have this much energy again until some time next year!:lmao: :rotfl2:

I have another recipe in one of my cookbooks that uses half and half in the recipe!!!!!:worship: But- that one makes 2 or 3 loaves ( I forget) and I did not want to have that much banana bread!

I could not resist!:lmao: I HAD to cut it and it is AWESOME! So moist!!!!:thumbsup2

I used a loaf pan. Mine was 8.5 but the recipe called for a 9

I also added chopped pecans and sprinkled some big chunks of the sparkling sugar on top before baking! Just for a little extra sumptin' sumptin'

I drizzled some honey over DH's piece- he said it was good.

So Maggie- go for it!

 LOL! I was just thinking yesterday that I need to make some banana bread. Ever put rum in it? I put dark rum instead of milk - just a little bit of extra yum! DH cut down a big stalk of bananas from the back yard on Wednesday. They're little bananas, but there are lots of them! They make good bread because they are very creamy.

OMG! RUM!!!!!!!!! :headache: That would be awesome! I was talking to DH a while ago and said- guess what I forgot to put in the banana bread? He said, Dark Rum! Hello! He should have said something when I was making it!

He said I could make some fresh whipped cream and add the rum to that!:cool1: Great idea!

Off to lose my "wisdom" via the dentist  :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Good luck! Let us know how it all goes!

Natalie-we go camping at Edisto Island, SC... Definately no high-rise hotels and not many junky souvenir shops.
That is actually one of the places I looked into last year! Now that I *know* someone that's really been there we may look into it again for the spring.

Dh and I have been busy trying to make a baby;) Hopefully i'll have some good news to report sooner rather than later.
We tried for quite a while to have our kids... for a loooooong time...DH looks upon those days with fond memories :lmao: Good luck!

We were at King's Island amusement park yesterday and I'm feeling it today- glad I don't have to work. In 8 hours we did 14 attractions (6 being coasters- and one of them 4 times in a row), a sit down snack of fried Oreos, a show (with an 80's theme... I knew all the words!!!), dinner and fireworks! It's hard keeping up with 8 year olds! DH sat out on the last coaster... the one we did 4 times- said the "Racer" coaster did him in!

IAHD- good luck today with that wisdom tooth!

RUM! YUM!

Anyone have a banana bread recipe using dark rum? I want one that someone has used before and is sure that it will taste good! I am CRAVING it again today!

hmmmm- you are having cravings!?- are you trying to tell us something??;) ......or are you just trying to tell us you want banana bread and that is about it:lmao: :rotfl2:

I was wathcing the Food Channel last night and they had a show on ice cream. This one place in NY makes all kinds of weird ice cream concoctions- one was BEER AND NUTS ice cream- yes with real beer:scared1: But anyway- the owner was telling a story about a pregnant woman that he made PICKLE ICE CREAM for- he said it did not go over too well!:lmao:

Another flavor was PIZZA! I think that was another dud!

Now banana rum bread ice cream would be crazy good!:thumbsup2

I hope in a couple months im telling you something else;) Hold the pickle ice-cream please. I dont think i'll ever have THAT craving!!

Okay so I have a confession! I am desperately pleading with my husband to take me to the olympics next week in Beijing! PLEASE tell me I am NUTS! I have found airplane tickets and everything already... just waiting to click to submit! I know I know... WHAT AM I THINKING??

Okay, here's what im thinking. Ive travelled a lot in the little time ive been alive (Ireland, England, Wales, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, etc). I LOVE to travel. I've just never been somewhere with such a language barrier... and I think culture diversity is great! As I've wrote before, DH and I are trying for a baby. I really think it will be relatively soon! So here's my chance, right? Plus, they made China Week on the Travel Channel look so appealing! I mean... not that i want to eat weird food (like cats- :scared: ) but I really think it would be an experience of a lifetime! Once children come... im doomed (okay, not DOOMED, but probably wont be looking to travel outside the country for a LONG while!).

SO tell me, am I nuts?

You are SO not nuts! If you can go, then GO! It's a chance of a lifetime with or without kiddies! HIT THE SUBMIT BUTTON! NOW! And then we can all live vicariously through you!

   Screw the bananas and start packing!
