FREAP CHAT ~ Everyone Welcome!

I never got anything...WTH? I know for sure my new mail lady was stealing our freebies:mad: . Dh and I ordered things online and with the freebies I fill out. I went from getting 10-15 things per wk to 1-2. We called the post office and told them we think there is something going on with our info or "something" on there end and they said that we are not the only one to call. Since then we are back to freebies coming every day and a new mail lady.

HEY WHERE HAS TINKER BEEN???:confused3
I know that is so random!:lmao:

Well just want to vent a little. DD and her buddies went to Calif. and should have been home last night. But due to the fack they booked a conn. flight with about 12 min. in between they never made it home. Now they are in NJ and with the weather being bad in Boston they may not get home. I think DH is going to be driving to NJ to get her and her pals.

Where is the loser thread you refered to over on the freebie thread, surely you weren't talking about this thread as there are no losers here, only freaps. TIA

HI!! Of COURSE I wasn't talking about the freaps here...we losers have special qualifications.. We feed our kids cupcakes for breakfast, wear our PJ's all day, and still have our Christmas decorations up..Yesterday I took down...get this....the TOP of my Christmas tree. The rest of it is still standing proudly! We losers don't mind washing and drying clothes so much (by machine, of course) but HATE, HATE, HATE folding and putting away..so there it sits in the basket until you need the basket..then there is a dilemma. The thread is fun, c'mon over...

Here it is.....http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1674010

It's mostly tongue in cheek with some truth folded in.

I have been wondering about Tinkerbean, too..she posted her DH came out of the surgery OK, and it wasn't cancer...then I don't think I've read anything more from her. Maybe madd knows.

We got the darn flashlight, batteries and everything.

After about a month I dropped it, just a little drop, not a big one! And now it does not work. DH cannot even get it to work- and DH can fix anything!

I let my DS4 play with the lantern part at bedtime the day it came, and about 15 minutes into it he comes back downstairs saying it is broken. He probably dropped it. I could not fix it either-not that I am that handy. At least it was free.

Hey I live in Southern NJ- they can come stay with me:lmao:

But- are they in North or South- to me N and S are worlds away! I would hope at least they in North Jersey- that is at least a tad bit closer to Boston!

The weather here is crazy! It is pretty warm and it is raining and we are having lighting and thunder!:scared1: We are not supposed to see lightning or hear thunder until SPRING!

Keep us up to date!

I have no heard anything from Tinkerbean either!:confused3 But I think Rachel, aka Tinker girl- if I am not mistaken, is talking about TINKER- as in "mom of lil' Wesley"!

Either way, Hey- where the heck are BOTH of those girls!?

And I think all of these Tinker names are confusing me!:rotfl2:

Hey everybody...

Sorry I've been MIA. I've been dealing with a doggie situation here that would make my budget friends kringe...

Last thursday, my 12 yrs old yorkie, Flint, managed to get a fully cooked chicken off of the counter and went to town. He had to have emergency surgery on Friday to remove a large chicken bone in his stomach and then he developed severe pancreatitis. While I was transfering him from the animal hospital who did the surgery to the hospital who was going to deal with the pancreatitis (he needed round the clock ICU care) I got into an accident on 93 north during rush hour (for those of you not familiar with Boston 93 is the expressway that goes right through Boston and is EXTREMELY busy from 3 to 7 every night).

Long story short, he is still at the hospital, he has been able to eat or drink. He has been on IV nutrition and fluids. He is alert, chipper and I have taken he for walks and he barks at the big dogs like he is bigger than them. He has maintained his weight but won't eat and is still throwing up every 5-6 hours. Pancreatitis is very frustrating because you simply don't know how long it will take to "get him over the hump".

We are now at $$$ (I originally had the amount there but I don't want/need to get flamed over this now-I know that my freap friends would never do this) in vet bills and we have to make a decision. I have been crying all day.

But, I just got off of the phone with my friend (who I've been friends with for 18 years - she has been a Vet for 3 years now and is his Vet) we are going to take him home tomorrow and I will try to get him to take food and will give him sub q fluids. At this point it's either that or put him down, and I just can't put him down. If he were miserable, and wasting away - no issues there - I would do it. I have had to make that decision 3 times already with 3 cats that were 13, 15 and 18 yrs old and I knew that that was what needed to be done. But he is in good spirits and spunky as ever...

So that is why I have been missing. But I suspect that I will be on the couch with him at all hours of the day and night so I will be checking in often

Hi Everyone,

This is a legitimate site from the band, Five for Fighting. Please click to the link to view the video and song - the band is donating $0.40 to Autism Speaks each time the video is viewed on the site - let's help surpass their goal of 10,000 and increase awareness and understanding of Autism.
This will hopefully lead to improved legislation in support of the much needed
early intervention services and therapies for children and families trying to find their way in the puzzle that is Autism!!

Thanks in advance for your support - Be sure to pass this along to family and friends! Oh - and be sure to have a box of tissues handy because your eyes couldn't possibly stay dry...

I do not think you would want them. DD would steal all you Johnny stuff. :lmao: They are in Newark airport. They have missed out on three flights so far that have been over booked. We might have them a jump on a train and take it to Boston.

I sympathize with your situation. We had to put my cat down last Saturday. Im 22yo and had had her for 16 years. Honestly, I cant remember not having her. She was with me through everything and really was my best friend. She moved with me everytime I moved and when I got married-- she came along. Last Saturday, after a couple days of her not eating, getting down to 3lbs (she never did weigh more than 5) and not being able to walk (she walked very bowlegged in the end and didnt have a balance at all)-- we decided to put her down. It was the hardest decision ive ever had to make. Im a housewife so being here at home without her as my company is extremely hard.

My advice is that pets are definitely family members. We tried everything to save her. Only you know what is right and how you will handle the circumstances. I hope your dog recovers soon. Sending lots of pixie dust your way!

ETA: Tinker_ (AkA Cassi, little Wesley's mom) has her server back up and her and I are "friends" on myspace. I'll send her a message telling her everyone is asking about her too.

No flames from me. We spent several thousand dollars, yes thousands, to save our Husky when she had Blastomycosis. And that was even getting her medicine from Mexico. Her pills were over a dollar each and she need four of them a day for months. And she had to go the hospital for IV treatments every week for months. She was four when this happened and she lived until she was 13. She ended up with something stuck in her intenstines this past October. Where it was, surgery was doubtful and with her age, they didn't think she would survive the stress of it. We ended up having to let her go.

When they are family, they are family.

Maggie, I am so sorry about your kitty. I understand completely. I am a sahm, and we have 2 dogs, 3 cats and a guinea pig. Even with just Flint not here, I feel his presence missing. The "tick, tick, tick" of his little feet on the kitchen tile floor, following me everywhere.

Thanks for the support you guys - it really does help. I feel better already knowing that he is coming home tomorrow and that we will at least have a chance to see if we can help him.

Here is a photo of Violet relaxing on her bed in front of the gas stove...a very hard life for a pug

Hey there FREAPS! Okay- I admit I have been a bad Freap as of late... but am trying to catch up and get back in the game. My mail box has been so so lonely! I really miss you guys and feel like I have been away from my family!

OK- Animal situation- you guys remember about Brutus last year- so I can totally relate. You just have to do what is best for your family member- and remember they are up there with Walt :)

hahahaha! Okay... I am going to post some funny Wes pictures to make up for my leave of absence lol.....

OMG Rhonda- are you OK from the accident?

Maggie- I am SO sorry about your kitty!:sad1:

Rhonda- Violet (:sad1: ) and Flint are SO cute!

You will get NO flames from me about how much you spend on your pets! Mom has 2 cats (I call them "ours") DH and I both have MAJOR asthma and allergies and cannot have pets. But I can't help but pick up the kitties and squish them all the time! Yes- I do have hell to pay afterwards! It never fails- I touch my eyes and forget about it!

"our" one kitty- Patches, has on overactive thyroid and we took her to the U of Penn to have her looked at, to see if there was anything else wrong with her or if there were any other treatments out there that were different from what her regular vet was doing for her.

I told mom it was my "treat" for the vet bill there. I KNEW it was going to be over 1000.00 just for them to look at her and do some tests- and yes! it was! I just handed over my credit card b/c there is NOTHING I would not do for both of our cats! I am sure a lot of people feel that way!

Heck- If I saw a stray animal on the side of the road that needed medical attention- I would take it to the nearest vet hospital and hand over my credit card there too just to save it!

My heart melts when I look into an animals eyes! That is why I became a veggie, don't use products that were tested on animals and I do not wear fur, leather, or anything made of animal products- I just can't do it! Sorry TMI!:headache:

anyway- NO FLAMES HERE!:sad2:
