I took one Polly Pocket coupon to Walmart this afternoon and they refused to take the coupon. When it is scanned, it does not automatically take the $5 off so they refused it.

I then took it to Shopko and the cash register screen showed that it was a coupon for a free product when the coupon was scanned, but they refused to take it because it was an "internet coupon". I told them it came right from the manufacturer website but they said the manufacturer would not reimburse them for an internet coupon.

I will be sending Mattel an email explaining this experience and letting Mattel know that I will not be shopping in either of these stores for Mattel toys for anyone this Holiday season and that I am going to tell my friends about my experience, both on-line and off, and asking them not to purchase Mattel toys from Walmart or Shopko, either.

These stores, including the K-Mart candy situation, are more than happy to take our money but to not take a coupon that the manufacturer or their own corporate office puts it out there is getting to be a bit much.

I worked for the big K for 9 years...about 8 years longer than most employees. You gain a new insight to the word "sucks". After that, "Rainman" came out, and the entire world knew it then....

I had a friend who worked at K-Mart when were younger. It was in the 80s- she was maybe 18 and we were into heavy metal so our hair style at the time was......spiked! Well she would get CRAP all the time about her hair and her clothes!

They told her they wanted her to wear, eeeekkk.........POLYESTER pants She told them- I DON'T OWN ANY POLY PANTS!

She left shortly after that!

Yes, I worked there in the early 80's..wasn't a heavy metal person, but didn't like it when they kept changing the dress code. First we could wear "neat" jeans meaning not torn. Then they couldn't have "patch" pockets ala Levis..Then we couldn't wear denim..only cordouroys or the dreaded Poly...And of course, always a great fashion accessory, that beautiful aqua smock. Funny thing, they didn't want our pants to be frayed, but when our smocks got stained or torn, they didn't want to cough up a new one. All that crap for...get this....$2.35/hour!! I hated it there, but loved the crazy people I worked with. We used to party hardy after we got off work at 10:00 p.m.

They just opened a new Target about 3 miles from my house about a week ago. I can't tell you the difference between KMart's "kiss my butt" attitude, and Target's "Can I help you find something" every time I turn around...They are REALLY focusing on customer courtesy, you can tell they have had it drilled into their heads when they were trained..but in a very nice, sincere way. KMart better watch out, they are on their way outta here with WalMart and Target kicking their behinds..

I had the most trouble at Walmart, too, but they kept wanting to put in the entire $5 and my item was only $2.92. I had to correct them myself.

I won't be setting foot in KMart again, even for free candy. The store is dark, old, and the employees are uncaring and unhelpful. The merchandise is in a big huge mess, it looks like a junk store. I'm so happy about our nice new Target, I could just dance a jig..

The one K-mart that is left near me is all kinda dirty- I don't even go there.

Wal-Mart.......mmmmm- the people there are....weird and I will leave it at that. The other K-Mart in our area has turned into a Sears Essentials store.

The only places I like are Kohls, Target, TJ Maxx and I LOVE Homegoods! I am a Homegoods freakO!

I love Homegoods, too, but I have to drive about 40 minutes to get to one! I personally love our Marshalls, but I trully mean OUR Marshalls, because I have been to some really scuzzy ones, but OURS is really nice! I guess it's just staff and management.

madd, I thought about you this afternoon. I was in the mall looking for a bookstore..yes, I am such a stranger to the mall, I don't even know if they have a bookstore(they have 2)...anyway, Halloween Express has leased an area the size of three retail stores, and it is just full of really spooky, gory, halloween stuff. They had one small section for kids costumes, and the rest was the creepiest, scariest, costumes and decorations I have ever seen, worthy of Universal's Halloween Horror..(have you been?) I kept thinking, "Wow, if madd had about $10,000 to blow, she'd be going nuts in here. " I was afraid something was going to move, or growl, and I would scream...so I finally had to leave. It was so cool! Are you gonna show us a picture of your decorations?? Please.............

Hey y'all, she didn't get me!! I saw that car "comin' round the mountain" and I clicked on that X button as fast as I could, muting the sound at the same time...my friend sent that to me last week, I immediately emailed her back and said, "I HATE YOU"...Glad I didn't have to say that to madd....I also got another one that had me intensely clicking on a red dot on different pages, supposedly following it ......you guessed it, 2 minutes into it LINDA BLAIR, who scared the bejeebers outta me. Same friend, wrote to her again, "i hate you.".....now every time I receive a remotely suspicious email, I mute the sound and squint my eyes till the end... (this will be my tag line for "laughing with you, not at you"...)

I LOVED to be scared like that! I will watch the car one just to freak myself out But I can't look directly at the screen b/c it STILL scares me. I have had it since last year.

I will try and get some pics of my yard this weekend. It is not anything spectacuar- I think you are just intrigued b/c of last weeks "hanging" post!

WELL! Me and my friend are Halloween fiends! We have a date to meet the day after Halloween at the Sprirt store and grab up a bunch of stuff ON SALE! (This store is awesome- better than any of the others that rent the big empty stores) Some people go to the stores after xmas- we do Halloween!

OMG- THIS is what I am going to push people over for when to doors open lmao: Like there is going to be a crowd!) OK- so- I am going to push my friend over to get to this- b/c she wants the SAME thing! He is so cool- his eyes stare RIGHT though you! He is about 3 ft tall and his body shakes and he makes some creepy noises! He is 149.00 now- I am hoping his price will be slashed the day after!
