Freaking Out - DCL Canceled Reserved Date - Dummy Booking Policy

UPDATE...

Just got off the phone with the Reservations Supervisor and he reinstated my original category at my original price. Thank heavens but in all reality, I would not normally have even looked at this reservation until September when full payment was due. That would have been a complete disaster. Speaking with my TA, this whole process was a compete disaster for folks, especially ones outside the US, many of whom 'lost' their reservations like me.

Anyway, DCL should have been more direct if they intended us to contact them. In fact, THEY should have been the ones contacting us to confirm our dates, or simply left it alone unless we actually changed it.
So glad to hear it all worked out for you and we also just returned from the same sailing :) We arrived back from Europe at 1am today so I'm jet lagged and time zoned out but had just logged in to confirm the new dummy I booked on board.

I do remember this coming up several months ago so I agree with you, I'm sure there are others that haven't even checked and their OBB for a "real cruise" might have been switched to a "dummy" and they aren't aware. I'd definitely encourage everyone to log in every now and then and just check.

Hope you had as much fun as we did! :)

GOOD!

So glad it worked out for you. Hoping you got your Category and Cabin you wanted back as well. Since you did have it first. Disney should compensate you for lack of if they did not get your stateroom back. Extra OBC or an adults dinner. Something for the hassle.

Why. They fixed the problem. Anyone can make a mistake.

They didn't fix it immediately though! Canceling someone's booked trip without their permission is a pretty big mistake. And offering to re-book for a higher price added insult to injury IMO. I think offering a comped Palo meal is the least DCL can do in this situation.

The 11 nighter was really nice but my biggest complaint is the lack of on board activity programming for our sea days, especially considering the conditions were not conducive to sitting on Dec 9 or 10... Also, a huge lack of a Pixar character presence was strange as the EB Panama Canal last year had the Incredibles, Up, Toy Story, Monsters, Inc. characters...

Disney got our Category, not our stateroom. Our stateroom is showing as a GTY. They lost our Late Dining Seating as it is not available (surpringly) so I'll have to change that the day we sail. I don't see them doing anything extraordinary for me.

Actually. They didn't fix the problem. When everything else with the reservation is no longer the same. Dining time, room cabin. It wasn't anyone that made a mistake, it was the company that made the mistake.

True. I feel like while my price and category have been restored, this was still a miserable screw up. I've emailed guest communications about the whole matter but it stinks in general.
