I think I read somewhere that this scalp massage is a really relaxing experience and a great value at $26. Anyone have any experiences to share?

I'm wondering specifically what the service included and how your hair and scalp felt afterwards. (oily or just richly conditioned or ???) How many minutes was the treatment? Was the massage done in the salon area where you can see out the ship's front windows? Are you given a spa robe to wear, or do they just wrap your shoulders in a towel? Did this feel like a spa treatment, or was it more comparable to a typical salon treatment?

Details would be great! Thanks! :)

:goodvibes I also would love to know. I wonder do they offer foot or leg massages as well?

Ok.. I can only give my experience on the Wonder as a parent. My 9 year old daughter had this scalp treatment done as one of the $99/3 item specials. They did it in the salon, along with a facial and manicure. After the facial, they put the fangipani oil in her hair and then let it soak in a wrapped warm towel and did her manicure. They did not rinse it out, but told her to keep it in her hair for at least 20 minutes and then she could shower. It left her hair a bit oily. But it smelled so good. We even purchased the oil from the Salon. (It was only $40 on the ship). The oil comes solid and you need to warm up the bottle (unless you are in Arizona in the summer :sad2: ) and it can be used on your skin or hair.

It is a lovely smell. We use this treatment every once in a while. A small amount goes a long way.

Not sure where they will do the treatment for adult, but I assume you can request to change into a robe when you check in and then you can also request to go into the rainforest room to let it soak in. If not you can at least use the sauna or shower in the locker room, when you change out of your robe. (Anyone over 18 can use the locker room on the ship)

Oh my goodness PLEASE do no tell my girls. I have been telling them for years that kids are not allowed in the spa. At least that's what I've always been told.:confused3 So if your 9 year old had it, is it just a kid service and not available for adults? Thanks for your post. :goodvibes

It can't be booked ahead of time. It has to be booked on board. I've heard it's very nice. I am going to try to book it on my October trip.

Alright, alright. I hear you. I will book this on my cruise in two months and I will give a report back.

It is a sacrifice, I know. But all for a good cause. (At least, that is what I am telling The Husband.)

I have this done every cruise. I think it's wonderful!
I get a neck and scalp massage while they are working in the oil.
My best hint is to have this done the day before the CC day and ask them if they will braid your hair afterwards to keep it in longer. I leave it in until I take a shower after CC day and then wash it out.

I was thinking about doing it too!

This Is a weird question, but how strong is the smell? I am sometimes sensitive to strong smells, even herbal/floral extracts. Usually I'm fine, although I can smell things like hair color in my hair until the second day. Do you smell your hair for days afterward or just until you wash it?

Because, I gotta say, this sounds heavenly!!!

No.. they can not go into the Spa (except for the first day tour, which is when my daughter learned about the 3 for $99 special for kids ;) ). It is in the Salon which is behind the entrance to the Spa. It is also a relaxing envirornment, but they do not undress and they can not use the rest of the spa.

I think it is a very light fragrance and it reminds me of Hawaii. But I know everyone as there own sensitivity.

If this is anything like the scalp massage I get included pre-shampoo with every haircut at my salon, DO IT! It is heaven on earth. Get a pedi afterwards and you can say you were pampered form head to toe!

In other news, I go to the best hair salon ever, right?

Bumping to see if anyone has any new input, since I STILL haven't had this treatment and we cruise this week!

Wow, this is an old thread! But since someone resurrected it and I have since had the treatment, I thought I'd chime in.
First, I loved the scalp massage. The fragrance is lovely, but very strong. (As I said in a previous comment

How long was the treatment? I'm wondering if it's a rushed deal, or if it's actually long enough to be relaxing.

Oh goodness. My baby kicked the phone and pressed send, but the app said it didn't post. Then it wouldn't let me re-post. It drives me nuts when it does that. Stupid app.

ANYway, it's a part of a pick-3 deal, so it's 15-20 minutes and then you have your other two treatments. You don't get undressed like a massage (except maybe your shirt if you get the shoulder massage) , but they dimmed lights in the room. I had the neck massage and hand massage as well. It was VERY relaxing. Because I have a scent issue, I washed my hair right away. But if you could find a way to fix your hair (maybe in a braid?), you could probably make it work. I would not have been able to sleep on it with the scent, but that's me. :). I could use a scalp massage right now, actually.
