Funny, I got the BCV print yesterday with our paperwork and went out today and got a pretty frame for it. Am I a nerd or what?!? Anyone else hang the print up? LOL Guess I'm gonna be a proud DVC member?!? :Pinkbounc

By the way, got the backpack, too. Out of curiousity, what other items have they gave new members in the past?

Naw, you're not a nerd... We have two BCV prints: the first from our original purchase and a second when we added on. My SO had them both custom-framed at Michael's and both are hanging in our home.

What backpack? Did you think you would breeze that past us. I never got a backback for adding on 300 pts at BCV. Let me know about this right away please.

We had our BCV print framed and then bought a print of BWV and had it framed also to match. Both are hanging in our home to remind us everyday of our homes away from home.

We had our lithos of OKW and VB custom framed and matted at "Michaels", and they are both hanging up on our wall in the living room.

Call your vacation guide tomorrow. Mine told me you automatically get a backpack when you add on 150 points or more. Mine came on Saturday.

Hello All,
This is my first post here on the DVC board because we just joined on our trip last week! I'm so happy and excited.

Our paperwork all arrived on Monday night with the print of the BCV and the backpack. The backpack is really nice. It's a dark blue canvas with leather trim. My son and I instantly started fighting over it but I gave in and told him he can have it for school but he has to wait to use it at the start of school next fall since the one he's currently using still has a bit of life left in it.

We also got a nice beach tote-it's aqua and blue. We have a total of 3 lithographs, 2 of BCV and 1 of VWL. One of each is hanging over our bed, one on each side of our large picture of walt holding Mickey's hand walking over a bridge. Our other BCV print is hanging in the kitchen.

We just did an add on (got some VB points using the buy-back incentive) and received the nice VB print. Since we never received a print of BWV (our original home), we called our sales person up and nicely requested a print. To our surprise, we received prints to all the DVC resorts!

Our kids bathroom is lightly decorated in Disney, we'll be putting some/all of the prints in there.

On another note, does anyone know if the DVC backpacks are available for purchase? We saw a couple DVC CMs walking around with them and would love to get one. We checked all the DVC resort gift stores and didn't see them. Someone told us they were for CMs only.

We got the backpack and a picture of BCV. My DH is going to get the picture framed so that we can hang it up in our home. The backpack however, i off limits. I wanted to use it for work. He wants to save it for our trips home!

I just left a message for Randy, my guide, to send us a backpack and a set of prints. If he doesn't I will let the board know. We have purchased 1100 pts in total from him, 300 BCV included, and feel like we are putting his kids through college
single- handedly.
Thanks for the heads up guys!!

I have a question about the backpack. When we purchased our original points last summer at BCV we received a matted print and a backpack. We added on about 3 weeks after our purchase and received only another matted print. Now we just added on again and only received another print.

I am not complaining because we love the prints. My husband keeps one at work as incentive for more points. I should probably put a sign next to it that says "I work for points".

Anyway, I would love another backpack since with three Disney lovers in the house, one backpack doesn't cut it. Do they send them only with 150 points or more add on?

Should I call my guide?

Thanks

We just joined at BCV and plan to hang our print. We have a wall in our basement/rec room where we have 4 framed Disney posters. We got them at Jewel-Osco from Kodak. They are in recognition of the 100 year celebration, one for each park. We will hang our BCV print by them.

I called my "guide" Randy Kruger and asked him for a couple of backpacks. I have never gotten anything from Disney and I have also never asked for anything before. Now I am mad. We bought 300 BCV points in 100 pt increments and did not receive a backpack. We have bought in total1100 pts from this man. I told him I am putiing his kids through college. He hemmed and hawed and finally I said " Randy, just make it happen". I have been in sales my whole life and if I had a customer like me I would sure take care of him. I have given Randy many leads and have always been an advertisement for DVC wearing DVC insignias on my clothes and hats. When I saw the backpacks mentioned in the first post I went sort of balistic. Randy says this is not his department etc etc. As a salesman it is his responsibilty to make sure his customers are happy with the sale and are happy with the service AFTER the sale. I will let you know if he comes through. BTW when I mentioned that someone had gotten a whole set of prints his retort was, "now that guide is ruining it for everyone". I guess the everyone he was referring to was the rest of the salesforce.

EGADS! I'm sorry I mentioned the backpack. I thought it was just standard when you joined. In defense of any DVC guide, I think this might have come from another department. I received a box with all the paperwork to fed ex back, the member guidebook, BCV print and the now infamous backpack.
That said, I would want a backpack if I had purchased all those points! Any amount of points really! For what you have bought I think he should be able to swing a backpack for goodness sake.
NOW another way of thinking is...I might think that others may have received other goodies when they joined before me that I did not get. Should I call DVC and demand them? Hey-I want those free park passes you were giving out back in the day! ;)
Two ways to look at everything I suppose.
Personally, I think they should have an online catalog of DVC member stuff. I think they would sell plenty. Like what about car tags or even DVC stickers? Seems it would drum up more business....

It's funny that you say that because we too have wished for better products for DVC. The ones at the resorts always have an insignia three inches high with DVC on them. I always think people think I work for DVC. I might as well with all the points I have.
I see your point about the passes too. Those were the good old days alright but, when we bought into DVC we didn't know if they were for real or not. It was so new that nobody, I think including Disney, knew if it would take. The passes were a freebie that really didn't overwhelm me at the time. I just figured if we buy a Disney Timeshare we ought to get passes. It seemed so logical at the time. Boy those ten years went fast and passes have become a major expenditure each year.

icy-dog

I actually called member services about the backpack and they sad - "you need to talk with your guide". I didn't call him because I haven't had time and I guess its not all that big of a deal. Maybe when we are down there next I will stop by to see him. If all else fails, we can grab a bunch of free taffy - my DD loves it!!!!!

It would be easier to take that taffy with you if you had a backpack!
