Because Fraggle is a house cat he doesn't get the opportunity to scratch his claws down on fences etc. His claws have been getting longer and longer and recently I have found him stuck to the bed with his one paw up in the air and a claw stuck in it!!

His vet took quite a lot off them and now his feet are like doggy paws! :paw: he hasn;t got enough to claw at all now - so he is relying on his teeth. DH is pleased that he isn't scratching the stair anymore though!

Does anyone else have their cats claws cut? I just think it's much nicer than having him completly de-clawed. What do you think?

Hope Fraggle is enjoyed his manicured tootsies :paw:

Our old lady cat George has to have her nails clipped every couple of months because in her old age they don't retract any more, bless.

It's probably not so good for her, but it is for us - I know exactly what you mean by Fraggle getting 'stuck' to the bed, we find little mats and rugs all over the house instead of where they should be because she's dragged them with her :paw:

The only problem when they're clipped is you don't hear her coming - she's a very old lady and doesn't move as quick as she used to and has a tendancy to stand at the back of you, so with clippy claws we can hear her coming  ;)

OH yes....I have been doing Mavric's for over 10 years. But when Hannah came to live with us it just got too stressful for all involved.

Now I take them both for a manicure (and pedicure) every 4 weeks. It is so worth the $20 and they both seem to enjoy having their nails short. I know I do (mine and theirs)...especially since Mavric has started to pat my face when he wants me to get up in the morning....and sometimes he pats a little too hard and his claws come.

Siamese claws.....very sharp and pointy!
