FP+ strategy question - multiple parks, slow day

Wondering if folks have any suggestions - we're visiting on a relatively slow day in December (weekday rated a 3 in all parks by touring plans) and hoping to start in MK, spend afternoon in EP then end day in HS. Read the big FP+ thread and saw the general advice (as my instincts would also say) that you should do FP+ on your 2nd or 3rd park when doing multiple parks since you can ride the e-ticket rides without much line at rope drop in park one (EMH there too).

So my plan is to use our FP+ in HS. We'll hopefully get away with minimal early lines in MK, grin and bear it in EP then hit the main rides we want in a few hours at the end of the day in HS.

We would be foregoing the right to get additional FP+ by waiting until the end of the day to use them. On a busy park day, I presume that doesn't matter because the e-ticket rides don't have same-day FP+ available. But does that hold true on "3" rated days? In other words, should we use our FP+ in the morning in MK because we'd still have a shot at getting same day FP+ in midday at TT, Soarin' and/or TSMM when we go to EP or HS?

Thanks!

You won't need them at MK if you do rope drop- unless you want to ride multiple times.

I'd stick with the plan you have, except I'd never try to hit 3 parks in one day. At Epcot, your 2nd parkm even a slow day ( they don't really exist much anymore) there are few rides so Soarin and TT are likely to have long waits.

Thanks. Only reason we're trying 3 parks is that it's a 1-day trip. DS and I are in town for something else and can't resist the lure of a day at WDW.

I would rather ride rides than spend my time changing parks.

You won't need FP for the first two hours in the parks. We went to MK on a 3 day and the mountains were walk ons all morning :) SDMT was around 40-60 mins all day and Fantasyland was a little busier but we only used one FP all day.

To each, his or her own. Not only don't we mind spending 30 minutes to take the monorail to Epcot and 15 minutes on the boat to HS out of our 12 hour day in the parks, but the monorail is as integral a park of our Disney experience as any ride.
