FP+ question - desperately seeking A&E

A question for you experts:
I have an on-site reservation booked from Dec. 15-20, which is a Monday arrival. With a 4yo daughter, meeting A&E is a must. I am very concerned that, even checking at midnight at 60 days out, I'll miss out on a FP for A&E because we are arriving on a Monday and not a Saturday. (Meaning, all of those folks arriving on Saturday, 12/13 will have already booked all of the A&E FP for the entire week before I'm even able to log on to reserve mine two days later.)

So now I'm wondering - can I adjust my dates to arrive on Saturday, 12/13, book my FP when my 60 days arrives, and then readjust my dates back to arrive on 12/15? Or would that make me lose my FP and ADRs? I'd still be within my 45-day cancellation window ...

First world problems, I know ...

There is a chance that when you try to modify your reservation to cancel the first two days, all of your FP ressies will be lost (I have heard of it happening).

To me it is not worth that small risk to have the small increase in the likelihood of getting an A&E FP.

FWIW, PP were losing FP+ reservations just for adding the dining plan after booking FP+. These are legitimate reasons. MDX/FP+ has too many glitches IMO to do something unnecessarily. And yes, THIS COULD cause you to lose all FP+. And Disney IT isn't restoring these lost FP+.

Most have luck towards end of trip, so when you go to book in October, check for A/E 1st for December 19th &/or December 20th.

I am not sure of your specific question but we recently booked our FP+ and are arriving on a Monday and we did have some challenges but where able to get FP+ with A&E twice during our stay. If you aren't too picky on time (way easier in the afternoon than in the morning) I think you will be ok.

Also, what seems to be working best is to book the FP+ for just one person and then try to copy your FP+ to the rest of your party. It seems really hard to get FP+ for parties of more than 1 or 2

For one of our meets (which was in the morning) I wasn't able to get the whole party at the same time but did get most of us at overlapping time and then the 1 outsider kept trying to change it and eventually one time that overlapped with the rest opened up.
