FP+ poll

Do you prefer FP+?

I would venture to guess that this Poll is flawed and skews towards Legacy FP.

The reason I make this assumption is that Dis'ser (people who read DisBoards) are people who were more likely to have been able to maximize the Legacy FP system.

And since Dis'sers seemingly lost the most going from Legacy to FP+, they are going to vote negatively.

In the language of statistics - the Sample is flawed.

And yet, FP+ is leading in this Poll.

The poll is seeking Dis members views. It is not trying to gauge the preference of Disney park visitors overall.

I'm pro Fast Pass + but ANTI tiers. Unfortunately, I don't think they'll be removed until DHS and EPCOT have more rides.
Those tiers are a bit of a nuisance eg if you only can fit in one day at Epcot & you were wanting Soarin & Test Track.

I like them both, but prefer FP+ because I can schedule ahead of time

I prefer FastPass+. I've had 3 trips under legacy and 2 under +. I always returned during the window under legacy though, I'm a rule follower.

But I prefer either system over (shudder) stand by only.

IMO there's a problem when a FP+ poll on a rabid disney fan site shows a 50-50 divide on the new system.

I am wondering if we can finally get rid of the "Its only a small minority (sometimes they say 5 or 6 people) here on the DisBoards that dislike FP+, everyone else loves it" talking point from those in the FP+ loving "camp" ????

actually when you look at other threads about the subject it seems like the majority HATE FP+ and there's only a small amount of people that have good things to say about it.
i'm surprised that the likes are more than the hates in this poll.

I am not sure anyone ever said that it was only 5 or 6 people that disliked FP+ on the Disboards. That would be a ridiculous statement to make. I think there are/were 5 or 6 people that continuously posted about their hatred of FP+. Seems to be less than 5 or 6 now but I could be wrong.

Folks if you have no interest in behaving in a civil way in this thread you are being given a chance to walk away. The amnesty will not last for long :)

I prefer Legacy FP. Although, I did realize this week that one of my pet peeves is no longer around because of FP+. I hated when people would send their family in line while they got FPs for another ride and then they would budge to catch up.

I only went once under legacy FP and now have gone once under FP+. I prefer FP+. I can definitely see how it can be frustrating booking everything so far in advance, however, we changed plans a week out and were able to secure the same FP+ for the park on the new day (moved DHS day from Friday to Tuesday and booked afternoon FP+s. Including getting Toy Story for a time we were quite happy with). I will say I didn't book A & E or change 7DMT once I had it though. But I much preferred not having to figure out what rides to sprint to and could take our mornings a bit more leisurely. We also did less walking as well since we could plan which area we were going to be in.

If/when we go back, I think we have it figured out for what works for us - rope drop, nap/swim break, then FP+ booked for the afternoon, likely at a different park or rope drop with late morning/early afternoon FP+ then hotel time and an ADR at a resort. We didn't/wouldn't bother with a 4th FP+, since we get so much done in the mornings.

We definitely prefer fp+. We are not normally rope drop people. I can remember getting to TSMM and having the fast passes all distributed for the day.

That happened to us with TSMM last trip. Managed to fit in going back to HS near the end of our holiday when we were offsite & made sure we were there for RD - loved TSMM.
My main memory of that day was we got soaking wet in an afternoon downpour, we had a great day though - my main concern was protecting my Mickey ice-cream bar from the rain, lol. So looking forward to going back in 2 months rain or shine (prefer sun though, get enough rain here in Scotland all year round!)

Although there is a geeky part of me that misses the satisfaction of catching the bits of paper as they shoot out, I do not miss walking back and forth across the park. We are a family with young kids, and FP+ helps us maximize attractions. We never did more than 3 FP in the past. (Seems like our type of family has the most to gain from FP). I also enjoy the planning, and am the type to use a touring plan, anyway, so don't suffer from the loss of spontaneity.

This definitely describes us. We actually used to skip HS all together because there were so few things we wanted to do, and the FP- was gone for the day.

In planning our next trip, we will only do one RD at MK. We arrive at other parks late morning and use our FP+ to ride what we want.

Similarly for our upcoming trip l've planned only on doing RD on our main MK day (will go to MK another couple of evenings as well). My husband & teenage daughter are not RD people (unlike me) so l'm hoping FP+ will be better for us as a family.

I was just thinking that the poll would be skewed towards FP+. It always seems like DISers love to pre-plan and FP+ does help with that.

You'll not visit simply because of FP+???? People may like it or not, but I can't imagine that alone being a deal breaker. Why do you feel so strongly about it?

We cancelled our trip last year over FP+. My family wasn't ready to tour a new way.

We know which rides we like and we like to reride. We weren't ready to give that up last year. We decided we'd rather go without than have an experience that left us disappointed.

We've decided to go ahead and try it next year -- MOSTLY -- because the three youngest girls in our house love princesses. The older members of our family are willing to give it a whirl this new way.
